Hi, I'm Brian Denberg and I decided to start the First 5 Million podcast. I've spent 30 years building sales teams around the world. I spent 20 years building teams in Asia. Several of those companies I was co-founder of.
I've been on sales teams of publicly traded companies. I've been on sales teams of brand new startups. I've seen companies go from 0 to 1, from 1 to 5, from 5 to 10, from 10 to 20, from 20 to 50 and beyond. I love entrepreneurship. I love sales. The companies that I co-founded, I was always the person in charge of selling.
This podcast is not just about sales, it's not just about entrepreneurship, it's about the people who helped get the company through those really messy phases. I say the first five because it's not that hard, in my opinion, to get to 1 million. It's really hard to get to 5 and do it right so that you're set up for success so that you can go to 10, 20, 50 to set up those processes so that it's actually gonna be a real enterprise.
I've seen companies do it right. And I've seen companies fail. I've personally done it wrong and I've personally done it right. I've been part of companies that have crashed and burned. I've been part of companies that have been sold and I've, all of those war scars are what I want to bring to the table, but not just my scars.
I want to bring interviews with the people in the trenches who are doing it now, or who, who have done it, who've gotten through those phases. Not just the founders, maybe the head of sales, maybe the person who was critical, but not the people who were just along for the ride. We know who they are. It's okay.
Welcome to the ride. This is for people who really want to understand what it takes to get beyond the 5 to get beyond the 20, to get through that messy part, but want to set it up right in the beginning. Over the last 10 years when I, as I've been doing consulting work for companies, I've had the privilege of talking to some amazing founders and entrepreneurs and seeing firsthand some patterns of what it takes to get through those early messy phases.
I'd like to share those patterns with you, but also. I'm looking for more patterns. I'm always curious to find what's working, what's not working, and why. I hope you'll enjoy listening, and if you know somebody that we should be interviewing, please reach out to me at podcast@agilesalesmethod.com. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy listening.
