At the core, we humans think and function in patterns and we are programmed to spot patterns. Theatre is exciting when these patterns get disrupted!

Does the world pressure you to SAY SOMETHING? Especially if you're a minority or belong to one or multiple marginalised groups? It sucks. But maybe, you don't have to worry. It's theatre after all.

Sometimes the easiest thing to do is to just ask why. Remember when we were children and kept asking why? Apply the same thinking process when you're writing your plays.

When will I find my voice? Will I ever find my voice? What if I don't have a voice? Does it matter? All valid questions, but TL;DR: it doesn't.

Writing villains have always been fun. But do they need to be conventionally evil? Not at all. But you should give your antagonist the best, most juicy lines. Let you audience squirm a little when they start agreeing with the villain.

People say "Write What You Know". For me, it's "Write What You Fear". It's more fun that way anyway! Fear keeps you engaged, scared, and contains so much juicy juice for your writing.
