Acerca de esta escucha
Burnout among foster parents is at an all-time high. Studies show that 50% of foster parents quit within their first year, citing stress, lack of support, and feeling unprepared for trauma-related behaviors.
From the lack of training and resources to coping with grief after losing a foster child, we know the challenges of the foster care system very well and about the burnout too. We have been foster parents for 4 years. and May is National Foster Care Awareness Month in the United States. On this episode we sit down with Kim Swilpa, Executive Director of New Jersey Angels, an organization that walks alongside children, youth, and families in the foster care community by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship.
