  • JULES & STACE: Four Years of This Podcast - Reflecting On What Has Been, And Looking Forward To What Is To Come
    Dec 22 2020

After four years of hosting this podcast, we are taking a sabbatical. We started this podcast to give entrepreneurs a voice. To let theiriesowerful stores be told. To help build a community of entrepreneurs. To help business owners in the trenches know they are not alone. We have laughed countless laughs with our guests and cried countless tears, both of joy and of hardship. For this last episode, our dear friend and fellow entrepreneur, Kim Powell, does a mic take over and interviews us. We reflect on what has been and we look forward to what is to come. What an incredible four years of connecting with our guests and with you, our listeners. If there is one word to sum it all up, it would be grateful. We are grateful to have shared this path with you for a season. We hope you enjoy this episode!

  • LEVI WALKER: Creating Every Day, Dealing With The Severe Challenges Of Covid, & Supporting Fellow Artists In The Entertainment Industry
    Dec 15 2020

We first had Levi Walker on this podcast 3 years ago on episode #38, and if you’ve listened to that, you know he is a special human with a beautiful story. We wanted to have him back this week for a follow up conversation to talk about how severely Covid has impacted the arts and entertainment industry. As the founder of a commercial photography studio in Vegas, called Levi Walker Studios, Levi works with actors, dancers, musicians, and business leaders in Los Angeles, Vegas, Seattle, New York, and Atlanta capturing them in all of their beauty. There are a few industries that have been hit extra hard during Covid, and the entertainment industry has certainly been one of them. In this conversation, Levi is both hilarious and he gets real, raw and vulnerable as he offers his three action steps for dealing with what seems to be hopeless moments. We hope you are as encouraged and inspired as we were by this conversion with this wonderful human!

  • JENAN McCLAIN: Creating Art That Moves People, Getting To The End Of Your Rope, And Turning Back To What You Love Through Self-Healing
    Dec 1 2020

Once an artist, always an artist. During Jenan McClain’s formidable early years, she leaned into art and reading as escapes from the challenges life threw her way. As she grew up, she pursued art, but, once married, life then led her into banking. She and her husband ended up living in the Caribbean islands for 7 years and while there, she found herself spending her summers creating art programs for local island elementary school children. Art seemed to continue to find her. But not just any type of art. A series of life changing events enabled her to tap into the intuitive process behind the brush. Jenan feels what she is creating. And often her art and her poetry sing the songs of one another. She is inspired by the water and her recent body of work is strongly influenced by the surrounding salt marshes and beautiful florals along the South Carolina coast. Her primarily acrylic and oil pastels work is heavily textured and the rich vibrancy of her pieces are felt through the beautiful colors and lavish layers. To see Jenan’s work is to be captivated by its unexplainable force that draws you in. We hope you enjoy this episode!

  • STEVE & SANDY SCHOETTLE: Partnering In Business, Managing Growth To Prioritize Quality And Customer Relationships, And Forging Products With Love
    Nov 3 2020

This is an episode that we originally aired on our other podcast, Do It In Nature. We thought it was applicable to the entrepreneurial community as well, so we’re publishing it here. Few outdoor memories are better than the ones by a roaring fire pit with those you love. Sandy and Steve Schoettle, founders of Sea Island Forge, know this well. With a love for family and friends, artistry, the outdoors, and creating meaningful traditions, they began their company with their signature product, the Sea Island Forge Fire Kettle. They made their successful debut with it at the Sea Island Farmers Market in 2014, and they and their growing team of talented metalsmiths haven’t looked back as they debut new heirloom quality designs regularly. There is a difference between products you buy and throw away because they have no value or significance to you, and high quality, hand-crafted products that get passed down through the generations with the memories attached. Love is forged in the latter.
