Today’s guest is the insanely talented, heart-snatching, character-creating queen: HALEY WARREN 💥

Haley Warren is here (!!) and we’re diving deep into her latest novel, Near Miss. This book? OBSESSED. It gave me all the feels — butterflies, swoons, and those moments that just hit right in the heart.

We talk about it all — Haley’s writing background, the process behind crafting Near Miss, and the themes that shaped the story. She also shares her favorite scenes to write, how she brought these two beautifully messy characters to life, and yes… what she’s working on next 👀

This convo is such a good one — full of laughs, craft talk, and major fangirl energy. I’m so excited for you to hear it!

Near Miss is out now — run, don’t walk, and prepare to FEEL THINGS. ✨

I have a lineup of author interviews that are truly next-level, and we’re kicking things off with a total dream guest — my absolute fave romance author of all time: CARLEY FORTUNE 💖

Today I am sitting down with debut romance author, Katie Holt, (aka @readinromance on Bookstagram) to chat about her first ever published novel "Not In My Book"!!

I have been online pals with Katie for 3 years, and was SO EXCITED to learn that she was offered a book deal and that this book would be sold everywhere! "Not In My Book" is an epic enemies-to-lovers and workplace romance, set in NYC, where 2 students who HATE each other are forced to work together to write a novel. The steam in this book is OFF THE CHARTS and the swoony-ness is equally incredible. I literally could not put this book down!!!

  • Get Lit with Emma Grey, author of "Pictures Of You"
    Nov 29 2024

Today I'm joined by author Emma Grey to chat about her latest novel "Pictures of You".

I could not put this book down, so I am so excited to sit down with Emma for this new podcast episode! We spoke all about her writing background (who knew she wrote a musical production based on her YA novel "Unrequited"!) and her latest novel "Pictures of You" that has quickly become one of my favourite books of the year.

This book deals with heavy subject matter, but it is executed in the most special and well-written way. I was obsessed from start to finish (so many twists and turns but also the best love story!!) and need everyone to read this book ASAP.

  • Get Lit with Eirene Tran Donohue, screenwriter of Lifetime's "Christmas In The Spotlight" movie
    Nov 20 2024

Today I'm joined by screenwriter Eirene Tran Donohue, screenwriter of Lifetime's latest Christmas RomCom "Christmas In The Spotlight", which is inspired by the globally obsessed relationship between pop phenom Taylor Swift, and NFL star Travis Kelce.

The movie, which premieres on November 23 on Lifetime, is inspired by the celebrity couple - though has not direct connection to the pair. Seen as a piece of fan fiction, Eirene sits down with me to chat about her writing background, the importance of showcasing diverse stories and actors on screen, her love for Taylor Swift, and how this swoon worthy film came to be!

I loved getting to dive deep into this film with the mind that created this story, speaking about all of the fun Taylor Swift easter eggs embedded into the script, and of course the themes that will resonate with so many romance readers/watchers. Even if you aren't a fan of Swift, this movie is a holiday classic that anyone will enjoy!!

  • Get Lit with Georgia Hunter, author of "We Were The Lucky Ones"
    Jul 22 2024

Today I'm joined by NYT Bestselling author, Georgia Hunter, to chat about her novel and its subsequent Hulu and Disney+ TV adaptation, "We Were The Lucky Ones".

I binge watched all of "We Were The Lucky Ones" in one sitting. I then needed to devour the book. This television series and novel could be my favourite piece of media consumed this year. I immediately knew I had to sit down with the book's author, as well as TV series' writer and executive producer, Georgia Hunter to learn more about the genesis of this story, and adapting the book to screen.

This is the story of one family's survival of the Holocaust, told in the most touching, real and raw way. I absolutely loved getting the chance to sit down with Georgia, who's a grandchild of one of the survivors, to learn more about the research that went into writing this book... and the devoting and work that went into adapting this novel in the most perfect 8-episode mini series.

I was on the brink of crying throughout this whole episode. What an absolute privilege it is to connect with Georgia and hear from her point of view what it was like to bring her family's story to the masses, especially during such trying times for the Jewish people.

  • Get Lit with Renee Carlino, author of "This Used To Be Us"
    Jul 10 2024

Today I'm joined by author Renee Carlino, to chat about her new novel, “This Used To Be Us”.

Renee was my first guest EVER on this podcast just over 2 years ago, so I was so excited to welcome her back on the show!! I have loved every single book of hers to date, and knew I would love her latest release just as much.

We spoke in depth about her film background and what it’s been like adapting her books to the screen (her novel “Wish You Were Here” will be released in 2025, with Julia stiles’ directorial debut!) - and how she manages to write all of her novels so cinematically.

The highlight of this episode for me was getting to ask Renee all about her writing process for this newest release in particular (without any spoilers!), especially focusing on the different storytelling techniques, and her inspiration for the story.

I truly loved this episode so much, and am sure you will too! Make sure to check out Renee’s backlist, as well as her newest novel out right now!
