  • Dr. Joy On Building Therapy for Black Girls, Sisterhood as Healing and Taking Off the Superwoman Cape
    May 20 2025

    Send us a text

Dr. Joy Harden Bradford believes in the radical healing power of sisterhood—and she’s built a whole empire around it.

In this episode, our Head Honey, Felicia Pride, sits down with the award-winning psychologist and founder of Therapy for Black Girls to talk about the movement Dr. Joy sparked to make mental health more accessible for Black women. She opens up about her own therapy journey, how she balances being a media founder and licensed therapist, and the transformative joy of sisterhood.

    They also get into:

    • The origins of Therapy for Black Girls (and how a blog became a movement)
    • Why your therapist should feel like a good fit
    • Black women’s relationship to vulnerability, boundaries, and taking care of ourselves
    • What it means to practice pleasure, rest, and self-compassion

And of course, Dr. Joy shares her deepest desires, what’s giving her pleasure these days (spoiler: snowballs!), and how she’s expanding her work with in-person events and a new Patreon community.

  • Felicia Pride On Hiring a Dating Coach After 40, Setting Boundaries, and Healing for Love
    May 6 2025

    Send us a text

Have you ever thought about working with a dating coach? What if that decision didn’t just impact your love life but also changed how you show up for yourself?

In this soul-shifting solo episode, Head Honey Felicia Pride opens up about what inspired her—at 45—to hire a dating coach. From confronting deep-rooted childhood wounds to rethinking what it means to be “too accessible,” Felicia shares her transformative experience with raw honesty, relatable lessons, and her signature Honey flair.

This adventure started with a scroll on Instagram… and led to a year-long program that’s changing her life far beyond the dating apps. Felicia dives into the emotional work of asking for help, the power of being “inconvenient,” and the dating revelations that are reshaping her sense of self. Plus, she dishes on how coaching compares to matchmaking, her boundaries glow-up, and what she’s finally ready to ask for in love and beyond.

Honeys, did you catch that viral TikTok of the 39-year-old who dropped $10K on a dating coach and got engaged within a year? Whether you were cheering her on or giving her the side-eye, one thing’s clear: more Black women are investing in intentional partnership and choosing themselves first. Read the story here

And if you want support in your own dating or healing journey? This is the episode for you. You’ll walk away inspired to get the help you need, feel your feelings, and maybe even smile at that cutie in the cereal aisle.

Have you signed up for YES, HONEY yet? No? What are you waiting for?! It’s a sweet space for Honeys to talk about everything and anything, from culture to career!

We’ll laugh. We’ll go deep. Hell, we might even cry!

  • Felicia Pride on Building a Brand for Black Women Over 40
    Apr 8 2025

I wasn’t one to shy away from entrepreneurship, having started my first business in my late 20s. But I was tired of not seeing stories that spoke to me or other Black women my age and decided to do something about it. I was also very clear that the business favored youth and chose to see creatives like myself as work for hires. Starting HONEY CHILE felt like a calling and allowed me to have some skin in the game, but that didn’t make it any less scary.

I’ve learned so much about myself on this entrepreneurial journey and share all that goodness for my fellow Honeys and creative entrepreneurs as HONEY CHILE celebrates our four-year anniversary. Becoming a CEO ain’t for the faint of heart, but my heart is so full of gratitude for the leap I took and for everyone that has continued to support our journey along the way.
