Jack Hughes had another successful season. He was racking up the points and even improved defensively. Unfortunately, he had to get season-ending shoulder surgery for the second straight year. It seems like Hughes can never avoid injuries and something has to change. Because he is a star player and the New Jersey Devils rely on him a lot.

Curtis Lazar is set to become an unrestricted free agent. He didn't have a good showing during the 2024-25 season, but he was never 100% healthy. He was dealing with a knee problem for most of the season. While some people might forget, he's had an impactful rose with the New Jersey Devils the past few seasons.
