Philadelphia Phillies lose in AWFUL fashion as they drop game two of their series with the San Francisco Giants, 4-3.

Patrick Bailey belted a COOKIE off a pitch from Jordan Romano off the angled wall in left center field in San Francisco and came all the way around to score the game winning run on his WALK OFF 3-RUN HOMER!

The 9th inning wastes a solid night for so many other Phillies.

Taijuan Walker made his first start since May 30th. He threw four innings allowing one run on a check swing RBI single by Dominic Smith in the 2nd inning.

Otto Kemp had himself a day. First he came up with a great diving play in the 4th to prevent a one-out baserunner. Then in the 6th snapped a Phillies 0-26 stretch with RISP, smacking a game-tying two-out double to left bringing in Alec Bohm.

Kyle Schwarber, who had an ill-advised stolen base attempt in the 4th, came up with a little redemption in the 7th inning. Schwarber golfed an 0-2 change up into McCovey Cove to give the Phillies a 3-1 lead. For Schwarber it was his 28th homer of the season.

The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the San Francisco Giants, 3-2 on a night that featured a WHOLE LOT OF AWFUL!

Phillies bats when 0-for-6 in the game and are now 0-for-their-last-24 overall. The only run they squeezed out came on a wild pitch in the 5th inning that allowed Bryson Stott to score from third.

Orion Kerkering pitched the 8th with the score tied at one. He gave up a hit, hit two batters and was charged for two runs that were the difference in the game. Throw Kerkering was wild, home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi had one of the worst nights in recent memory calling balls and strikes.

Cuzzi called several pitches, well outside the zone, STRIKES. Bryce Harper seemed to be a favorite target of Cuzzi's to call pitches against. Then with Kekerking on the mound, Cuzzi called three straight pitches inside the zone, BALLS! Each one would have been for strike three. Instead, a full count and a base hit.

All that awful goes into wasting Cristopher Sanchez great start. Sanchy got no decision despite throwing seven innings of one-run baseball. Sanchez struck out 8 all by way of the change-up. He also allowed seven hits and issued just one walk, his first in a month.

Zack Wheeler threw a complete game one-hitter as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-1.

Wheeler's only mistake came in the 5th inning on a 3-1 fastball to former Phillie Austin Hays who loaded up and smacked it 377 feet to right field for the first (and only) blemish on Wheelers day.

Kyle Schwarber took Wheeler off the hook in the bottom of the 5th with an RBI single.

Then in the bottom of the 8th, with the score still tied at one and Wheeler in danger of not recording a win despite his outstanding efforts. Bryson Stott made sure his starter got the "W." Stott crushed a 2-2 fastball to right for a two run homer.

Phillies took the game, 3-1 and the series two games to one.

Phillies beat the Reds, 5-1 thanks to another solid start from Ranger Suarez and three homers by the Phils' offense!

Ranger Suarez was done after just five innings of work allowing just one run on a solo homer by Will Benson in the 5th. Suarez surrendered 5 hits and issued two walks while striking out six. He threw 80 pitches in the outing. After the game Rob Thomson said Suarez was on an 85 pitch limit today, that's why he was pulled early. Despite the solid start, Suarez streak of quality starts was snapped at 10-straight games. He was just the 9th Phillies pitcher to do that since 1901.

All five of the Phillies runs came by way of the long ball! Edmundo Sosa got the offense going in the 5th inning with a solo homer that tied the game at one and took Suarez off the hook. Then In the 6th, Alec Bohm put the Phillies in front with a two-run homer to center. Kyle Schwarber tacked on two more with a two-run homer to left-center in the 8th, for his 27th home run of the season.

After the Philadelphia Phillies allowed nine walks in Game 1 of their twin bill with the Padres, Cristopher Sanchez said NO MORE FREE PASSES!

Sanchy tossed seven innings of one-run baseball allowing just five hits and NO WALKS as the Phillies beat the Padres 5-1 in Game 2 of the doubleheader.

With the Win, the Phillies take the series two games to one.

Sanchez' effort was backed by a two-run homer by Max Kepler and a solo homer by Brandon Marsh. For Marsh, it was his first homer in over a month.

Nick Castellanos added an RBI single, while Alec Bohm drove in a run on an RBI triple.
