Here is a story about Lord Ganesha, the elephant Headed, pot-bellied god from Indian / Hindu mythology.
How Lord Ganesha got married
As Ganesha had an elephant head, and a pot belly there was no girl ready to marry him. While every god had someone, he did not have anyone. This angered him and he started creating troubles in the marriages of the other gods using the help of his mouse friends (yes he had mouse friends!!). He asked them to dig holes along the way on which the wedding procession of gods went. With broken wheels and a host of problems that followed, the gods got very, very angry. So they complained to Lord Brahma who agreed to help them.
Lord Brahma created two beautiful girls – Riddhi (who was the goddess wealth and prosperity) and Siddhi (who was the goddess of intellectual and spiritual power) and married them to Ganesha. Thus Lord Ganesha’s Big problem was solved. They Eventually had two sons together – Subha (auspiciousness) and Labha (profit).
