Finally figured out how to add music! Just a little clip of bloopers from my 1st episode with Allison Dickson of Ding Dong Darkness Time.

  • Beth's Story
    Oct 20 2023

Today I had a great conversation with another survivor of domestic violence and abuse. I greatly appreciate her courage to come on and share. Something she had never done before.

We discussed safe ways of escaping the situation, as well as the need for change in how these crimes are addressed.

We also discussed a couple of high profile cases in which the person on the receiving end of the abuse was ultimately killed. That could have been either of us. Any of us. We were lucky.

  • My Story
    Oct 17 2023

This is my conversation with Allison Dickson, a brilliant author who also has her own podcast called Ding Dong Darkness Time. Huge fan. I'm a total Ding Dong.

It is a long episode, so I am not adding music for this one. We talk about my experiences with domestic violence, the losses of my brother and father, as well as my work as a mental health professional.

We do some giggling and lots of ums, but I tried to catch as many as I could. I'm new to this, so please be patient. I swear (I hope) I will get better as I go along.

Biggest of thanks to Allison for being such an awesome friend and helping me to share my story.

  • Encouragement to do the podcast about domestic violence, trauma, and grief.
    Oct 11 2023

I was a mental health professional for many years. I still have a therapist. He has a therapist. For me, it is imperative that we have someone to process with so that we can be present for those we are working with.

I left the field in 2016, but starting this podcast is hopefully a way that I can help others process their trauma, grief, and develop tools for dealing with these situations.
