    Julie Hertz is a pediatric SLP, who runs her own practice, Juju’s Speech Therapy, LLC, since late 2018. She obtained both her undergraduate degree (B.A., Communication Sciences & Disorders, 2003) and her master’s degree (M.A., Speech Language Pathology, 2005) from the University of Florida. Julie has worked in outpatient pediatric speech therapy for the entirety of her career. Her areas of passion are: Childhood Apraxia of Speech, “r” therapy for pre-teens and teenagers who have not had prior success with speech therapy, and now, orofacial myofunctional therapy! Julie resides in Dayton, OH with her husband, Darren, and their two children.

  • OMD&T: Mary Billings, M.S.CCC-SLP

    Mary Billings, M.S. CCC/SLP is the owner of Billings Speech Pathology Services, LLC a private practice in the greater Kansas City area where she and her staff have specialized in orofacial myofunctional disorders for 30 years. Mary is a lifetime member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, holding 15 ACE awards for continuing education.

    Mary completed certification requirements in orofacial myofunctional disorders in 2008. She then threw herself into advocacy of the specialty and subsequently chaired the Mentoring Committtee from 2008-2013; co-chaired the 2011 Convention Committee and headed up the Nonprofit Governance Committee from 2014-2015 for the IAOM. She served as President of the organization from 2015-2017.

    Mary’s history of outstanding work in the field was recognized through the numerous awards presented including the Connie Painter Distinguished Service Award in 2011; the President’s Award given to previous presidents for outstanding service in 2018, and the Anita Weinfeld Award for excellence in Mentoring in 2021. In 2018 she was recognized as a Subject Matter Expert by ASHA. She currently serves as a Director for the Oral Motor Institute.

    Mary began teaching intensive studies course on orofacial myofunctional disorders in 2013. She has taught both nationally and internationally where her course has consistently ranked among the top in the nation. She is a sought-after speaker and has presented for numerous professional conferences over the years.

  • OMD&T: Patricia Fisher, M.A. CCC-SLP

    Patricia K. Fisher, M.A. CCC/SLP, works with Speech & Language Associates of Dayton, Ohio. Patty certified in Lidcombe (an Australian program for stuttering) and Orofacial Myology. Patty has served as adjunct faculty at Miami University of Ohio and for the College of St. Rose in New York. She has received Honors of the Association for Ohio. This is the highest Honor given from the Association and is a one time/life-time award recognizing distinguished contributions to the field of speech. She has chaired the Consumer Affairs, Insurance Initiative, and Student Scholarship committees and was the Director of Public Information. In 2018 Patty was invited to join the teaching team of “Make the Connection” with Dinah Davidson, BS, RDH, COM ® and Mary Billings, MS, CCC-SLP. She completed a research project on Orofacial Issues with the Max Plank Institute in Germany. Patty was awarded the Connie Painter Distinguished Service Award for her mentoring efforts in 2021. She is the recipient of 17 ASHA “ACE” Awards for excellence in Continuing Education.
