Acerca de esta escucha
Think about all the places you’ve seen hand-drawn art. Textbooks. Murals. Animation. And when innovators and researchers have a concept of a plan, a skilled artist can bring that vision into reality. An artist like Andreah Pierre, who studied biology in college and took an internship that accidentally paired her scientific mind with a forgotten talent she inherited from her father.
Tune in to hear the story of a young queer Black woman descended from immigrant parents who became the first in her family to go to college, the first to deliver a graduation speech at said college, the first to blaze a trail in the field of scientific illustration, and the first to design banners and logos for the Black in Marine Science annual conference.
Oh, and she is a proud of her participation in a DEI program that supported her transition into a career in STEM.
