As the father of all superheroes, Superman has served as the role model that millions of kids and former kids, including this podcast's host Jason Hackett, needed -- whether they knew it or not.

There have been hits and misses with the many multimedia interpretations of Superman through the decades, but more often than not the phrase, "Look, up in the sky ..." has meant not just exhilaration but hope for truth, justice and a better tomorrow.
