Have you ever felt that tug, that quiet, persistent pull telling you there’s something more?

Have you ever faced a moment that cracked everything open and made you see your life differently? Have you ever realized, in the middle of your routine, that it’s time to start over?

If you nodded yes, even a little, you're in the right place!

Welcome to Round Two, a show highlighting the dreamers, the doers, and the ones who stood at the edge of something new, took the leap, and began building lives with more meaning and purpose.

I’m Nikki Corbett, a speaker, writer, traveler, and everyday woman who chose to start over.

Round Two was born from my own journey of letting go, rebuilding, and finding purpose in a new chapter. I’ve wandered, in both the literal and emotional sense, and I’ve come to believe that change, while often messy, is where the real story begins.

In this podcast, you'll hear honest conversations about life transitions, stories that remind you you're not alone, and insight to help you feel clearer and more grounded as you move forward.

We'll talk about real moments of change. Big decisions. Brave pivots. Fresh starts.

You'll hear from people who stepped off the path they were on and created something more aligned with who they really are.

Whether you're thinking about a career shift, a personal reset, or just wondering what else is possible, you'll find something here.

If you're looking for stories about finding purpose, doing the hard thing, and choosing change even when it’s uncomfortable, this podcast is for you!

So pop on your headphones, get comfortable, and get ready to be inspired. It’s time for your Round Two.

Nikki

  • The End of an Era | Moving on from Round Two Podcast
    Jul 3 2025

This is the final episode of Round Two Podcast! I'm recording from Greece in the same apartment where my show really took off last summer - such a full circle moment.

After interviewing over 60 incredible guests who shared their life stories, I'm ending this chapter to start something completely new. All Round Two episodes will stay live on all platforms, but I'm launching a brand new podcast called The Scarlet Edit on July 10th.

Why start over instead of pivoting? It's all about training the algorithm. My new show focuses specifically on relationships in today's world - divorce, affairs, situationships, and successful relationships too. I'm building a real community on Patreon where we can have honest conversations about the stuff people don't always want to discuss.

What I realized with Round Two is that while I loved the diversity of topics (entrepreneurial exits one week, personal challenge the next), it was hard to build a connected community when the content was so broad. The Scarlet Edit will create that focused space I've been wanting.

This journey from recording in my closet in 2022 to traveling the world while podcasting has been incredible. Thank you to every guest, every listener, and everyone who shared episodes or sent encouraging emails. It's been such an adventure.

See you over on The Scarlet Edit next week!

    With gratitude,

    Nikki

  • 8 Years After Paralysis: Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Story and Overcoming Adversity with Robert Paylor
    Jun 26 2025

What would you do if, in just one moment, everything changed?

In this episode of the Round Two Podcast, I sit down with Robert Paylor, former UC Berkeley rugby player and now an incredible motivational speaker, whose life took a shocking turn after a rugby accident left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Doctors told him he’d never walk, move his hands or live independently again. But Robert’s spinal cord injury recovery story proves that when you combine mental resilience, faith, and an unstoppable spirit, you can rewrite the narrative.

You’ll hear what really happened the day of Robert’s devastating rugby accident, and how he faced the sudden shock of physical limitations and paralysis. We dive into the deep mental and emotional toll of his injury, his journey toward forgiveness after trauma, and how he redefined himself as a disabled athlete. Robert shares how mental resilience, vision, and unwavering caregiver support fueled his progress, leading to his incredible spinal cord injury recovery. And yes, he’s now walking again. Plus, we explore how he’s inspiring thousands as a sought-after motivational speaker, and the powerful lessons in his new book, Paralyzed to Powerful.

His journey is not just about overcoming adversity, it’s about choosing hope when the odds are against you, and finding emotional healing in even the darkest places.

Tune in, feel inspired, and remember: your mindset is your greatest muscle.

    Here’s to your next chapter,

    Nikki

  • How One Mother Found Emotional Strength Through the Grief and Loss of her Child with Tara Karels
    Jun 24 2025

I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with the stages of grief. We’ve all heard of denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. But what if I told you that model wasn’t actually meant for the people left behind?

In today’s powerful episode, I sit down with Tara Karels, a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience in women’s health, postpartum care, and bereavement support. Tara shares the heartbreaking story of losing her 19-year-old son to suicide and how that tragedy led her down a new path of personal transformation, emotional healing, and purpose.

Tara not only survived the unimaginable, she wrote an inspirational memoir, Trekking Poles, and created a resilience framework to help others who are coping with loss. If you’re walking through grief yourself or supporting someone who is, this conversation offers heart, hope, and real tools for healing.

You’ll learn why the common understanding of grief stages doesn’t tell the full story and what life after loss truly looks like (hint: it’s not about simply “moving on”). Tara shares how her devastating experience sparked a powerful mission of suicide awareness and advocacy, and how she turned pain into purpose through personal growth and helping others. You’ll also discover how to rebuild your life with emotional strength, clarity, and self-compassion, and gain insight into what a real mental health journey looks like, free from shame and silence.

This episode is especially for those looking for insight on navigating grief, finding purpose in pain, or simply hearing a story of hope and resilience.

Listen now and share this episode with someone who needs a little hope today.

    Here’s to your next chapter,

    Nikki
