    May 24 2025

In this episode of Shoe Eating Monster, I dive into a unique and much-needed innovation in the footwear world: Cadence Adaptive Shoes, designed specifically for individuals with foot drop and mobility challenges.

I break down my experience with the shoes—what they do very well, and what you might want to consider before lacing them up. Spoiler: they are LOUD and super slippery at first, but with a little time to adjust, they could be a game-changer for those who need support and adaptability in every step.

At $200, they’re an investment, but the functionality is there. Plus, you can take 10% off with the code JULIANNA10 at checkout.

🎧 Tune in for my honest take on:

    • Fit, feel, and who these shoes are for

    • First impressions vs. after a week of wear

    • The balance between function, comfort, and cost

  • My First Ultramarathon: The Watuppa 50K
    May 13 2025

In this episode, I (Julianna!) share the story of my first-ever ultramarathon—the Watuppa 50K—and the unforgettable day that became a core memory.

From start to finish, this race was filled with so much joy, gratitude, and love. I had the honor of running with my longtime friend Ben and my new friend Andy, whose presence made the miles fly by. Nicole came out to spectate and support, and I felt so deeply cared for every step of the way.

I talk about the training, the emotions of the day, and the overwhelming sense of community and connection that carried me through. Crossing the finish line in first place with a time of 5:02:05 was incredible—but the real prize was how full my heart felt. (Okay, and the wooden stump medal is pretty epic too!)

If you’re looking for a well-organized, beautiful, and truly special ultra experience, I highly recommend the Watuppa 50K. Learn more or sign up here: https://www.northeastracers.com/watuppa/

To everyone in my running life and beyond: thank you. I felt all your love with me out there. This episode is for you. 💛

  • Running with Chronic Illness: Port-o-Potties, Perseverance & the F*ck-It Bucket
    May 6 2025

In this very special episode of Runnah, I flip the mic on myself to kick off our first-ever series on running with chronic illness. I am talking about real-deal stuff like IBD-C, colon surgery, GI blockages, rectopexy (Google it... or maybe don’t), and how she learned to calculate port-o-potties per mile like a pro.

This isn’t about glossy, perfect miles—it’s about the messy, gritty, deeply human ones. I share how I chucked perfection in the "f*ck-it bucket," laced up, and found joy on the run again.

If you’ve ever run with a diagnosis, a flare-up, or just a whole lot going on—this one’s for you. 💛

I am planning a mini-series on this topic, and I really want to hear from you! Got a story about running with a chronic illness or invisible struggle? Send it to runnahpod@gmail.com and if I get enough, I’ll do a whole episode reading and celebrating your stories.
