Latrobe 4th Of July Firecracker Frolic 5 Miler

Finished 8th overall 1st in age in 31:01 . Exaclty 1 minute faster last year. Very pleased with how it went. I believe last year heat got me, but I was in better shape then, at least that how I feel. So to knock a minute off and run smooth all race makes me happy. Wasnt expecting much. Goals were top 10 and under 35 minutes going in so crushed those. Figured id be able mainain a 7 min pace and anything under would be amazing, since I expected to fade.

Never faded today. Did wet myself down before race so i stayed cooler, which def helped. Also today was one of the rare times where i was racing myself and not the feild. Didnt walk or stop at all. Did grab water at all 4 stops not to drink but splash it on myself. Could have pushed a little more maybe knocking 20-30 off but was afraid blowing up. Suana suit real helped make me sweat effceiently. Wasnt dripping at all so its working. Id consider this a huge step and victory in the coemback trail.
