  • Alone
    May 22 2025

Greg Davies, warbling eunuchs, and top notch production. It's all in this week's episode. Also, the Cardinal is SALTY this week! Someone's pissed in his chips, rearranged his daffodils, painted over his fresco of Jesus, shat in his cornflakes, and just generally pissed him off. It's like this every time he has to leave home and go out into the field to work! At least it's not winter so his nipples are cracked and sore..... Sit back as we discuss the pompatus of the Bee Gees...

If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "I don't wanna be alone", or possibly, "Unless you're who's keeping my company, then alone sounds fine!"

The thirteenth installment in this podcast-within-a-podcast covers a song submitted by the wonderful Sarah Chapman andis brought to us by those bollock twisting castratos, The Bee Gees who really don't want to be "Alone".

The poem, titled "Tonic" is by a fantastic fella Kev served with in the military, named Paul Cather, who performs poetry under the name BAMPOeT. You can find his YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@BAMPOeT and for a much drunker performance of Tonic, go here! https://youtu.be/vUBnbizpVf4

  • Love of My Life
    May 15 2025

Randy is plotting to leave again to start up a podcast with Corey but he's currently in the west north west tanlge or some shit. We get into the weeds about the rock hall of fame and thankfully it's fallen to us to kick those Sheffield bell ends Def Leppard out and replace them with someone else! Oh, we also talk about a Queen song for a bit and of course, we discuss the weather in some depth!

If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it “Back, hurry back”, or possibly, “You don’t know what it means to me”.

Today's episode looks at Freddie's most well-known ballad, the crowd singalong (unless you're in Saskatoon) favourite, "Love of My Life", from 1975's titanic "A Night at the Opera".

NOTE: Skip forward to 28:34 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The song at the end is the gorgeous "Long Drive Home" from our Pal Ian Winick's brilliant duo, John Loves Julie, which you can find here: https://soundcloud.com/johnlovesjulie/long-drive-home-album

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to the last episode and left us some comments on Facebook, Bluesky, and Discord! And while we're at it, come join us on Discord, we'd be glad to have you! We'll always try to answer any questions you have and seriously appreciate any corrections you make to anything we get wrong. And thanks so much for all your support as usual. We love diving into the Queen fandom as much as we're enjoying recording the podcasts!

  • Mother Love
    May 8 2025

The one where Randy wonders if Brian ever gets sick of the red special, Kev predicts that Ian Winick will become the first person in wheel-based podcasting history to manifest his song in back to back weeks, and the boys have a completely infantile discussion about the Cardinal's ailments! There's also a solid batman joke and we discuss the behaviour of Giacomo Tura (fuck that guy!) We also discuss one of the hardest songs for fans to listen to in the Queen catalogue.

If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "One more time Fred" or possibly, "Thanks for all the music"

Today's episode looks at Freddie's last ever vocal recording, the sublimely poignant and emotionally charged, "Mother Love".

NOTE: Skip forward to 23:45 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The song at the end is the beautiful "Take Me Back" from Absoofunkinlutely's brilliant second album "Blues Kid City", or "The Red Album" as it's known to fans! You can find that here: https://youtu.be/pRpGWvt-9wI

  • Beds Are Burning
    May 1 2025

Ahhhh g'day mate! We're heading down under for one of Australia's finest. When Queen told us we had to look out for the planet, we really weren't fans of being preached at by rocks stars, so how will we find this politically-charged chart topper? We get another question in our #AskUsAnything channel from Barry and there's a little bit of Britney involved.... what a time to be alive!

If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "How do we sleep while our beds are burning?", or possibly, "Get out of the building you idiot, your bed is on fire!"

The twelfth episode in this podcast-within-a-podcast covers a song submitted by the marvellous Mocca Smith and is the song that pushed Midnight Oil into the global consciousness; "Beds Are Burning".

The poem, titled "Tonic" is by a fantastic fella Kev served with in the military, named Paul Cather, who performs poetry under the name BAMPOeT. • Chinese Torture
    Apr 24 2025

Randy is incensed about the hotels in Weyburn and their attitude to towel management. He's upset about the levels of snow on the ground in Weyburn and goddamn it he's blaming Corey Morrissette for all of it! Kev's buzzing off the back of a personal best night at bowling! Our pal Barry is back with another question for us! So we answered that question. Because we're really not rude men! Also fuck Gart Brooks! And Limp Bizkit can definitely go fuck themselves. And not in the nice way like how we say it to you guys!

If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Looks like flashing light" or possibly, "Sounds like Brian wanking with his wrong hand!"

Today's episode looks at a... well I guess it's technically.... a song....? It's one of the offcuts from The Miracle, so you can imagine how great it is. It's time for some "Chinese Torture"

NOTE: Skip forward to 26:15 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The poem at the end of the podcast is "Napoleon's Retreat from Wigan" by the inimitable Mike Harding. Go check it, and the rest of the album, out here: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_ldMa7C5-LJK2_nKl21_ckVscdMznETDW0&si=KoEjvBG7gbrrj6a1

  • Lily of the Valley
    Apr 17 2025

Hear ye! Hear ye! Listen you lot! Listen you lot! We've got another episode for you - as you can tell because you're reading this. There's a bit more jibber jabber up front than usual, but it's all very information, very well thought out, and completely planned, so don't skip any of it, OK? If you skip the first twenty odd minutes you'll miss out on a secret to success that could change your life, the lives of your children, the lives of your children's children, the lives of you children's children's children, and so on and so forth, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And you wouldn't want that, would you?

If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Neptune of the seas" or possibly, "Is there enough time for peace?"

Today's episode looks at another Freddie classic and anchor of the Sheer Heart Attack medley, "LIly of the Valley"

NOTE: Skip forward to 23:45 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The song at the end is on of Kev's titled, simply, "America". Seems somewhat appropriate at the moment... https://youtu.be/lmPOZ6ZE090

  • Seaside Rendezvous
    Apr 10 2025

Tack piano, thimbles, vocals toto loco, thieving magpies, Yamaha C7s, weather reports, and NO BRIAN MAY! That's what's in store for you this week and also Kev and Randy field questions from Barry John Williams aka Alice's Dad, and our good pal Ruddy "Mike is my Dad" Rutherford, who both want to know what our inside leg measurement is and where to find the best scotch eggs in Wimbourne for some reason... (OK I may be lying about the last part). Get this in your ears, now!

If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Inland disunite" or possibly "One of the best songs of all time"

Today's episode looks at one of the Queeniest of all Queen songs and the track that gave our podcast it's name! That's right, it's time for "Seaside Rendezvous"!

NOTE: Skip forward to 16:23 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The song at the end is Randy's answer to the recent US aggression towards Canada. If you wanna take us on, better get your fucking elbows up! https://youtu.be/0PzEi_2oycU

  • Script for a Jester's Tear
    Apr 3 2025

Ballast Woods. Flin Flon. Minequakes. Average athleticism. Consensual Minotaurs. Max Martin. Pink. Fifth members of Queen. It's all going on in this week's episode along with some rather excellent original R&B from Kev! Humpt Bong indeed... what a ridiculous band name! It's a long one folks, but it's the longest song we've covered to date by a good couple of minutes, so y'know!

If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "What do you call a Fish with no eyes?", or possibly, "Fsh...."

The eleventh episode in this podcast-within-a-podcast covers a song submitted by our pal Tom Boje and is a song that Kev knows very well; the title track from Marillion's 1983 debut record, "Script for a Jester's Tear".
