Sermon Title: Set FREE from Sin
Bible Passage: Romans 6:15-23
Preacher: Ian Morrison
Date: 1st June 2025, 6 pm
What does it mean to be truly free? In Romans 6:15-23, Paul challenges the idea that freedom means doing whatever we please. Instead, he shows us that everyone serves something—either sin, which leads to death, or God, whose gift is righteousness and eternal life. This Sunday evening, Ian Morrison will open up this powerful passage and invite us to see the gospel not just as rescue from guilt, but as liberation from sin’s control.
Before Christ, we were slaves to sin, unable to escape its grip. But now, through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have been set free to serve a far better Master—one who leads us into life, not death. The gospel doesn’t just offer forgiveness; it gives us a new heart, new desires, and a new direction. Grace is not a license to sin—it’s the power to live a new life of joyful obedience.
Paul reminds us that sin’s wages are death—but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. This is the gospel: Jesus bore the punishment our sin deserved, broke its power at the cross, and rose again to bring us into the freedom of being God’s beloved children.
Join us as we rejoice in the freedom that only Jesus can give. Come and discover what it means to live no longer bound by sin, but joyfully surrendered to the One who sets us free.
