Acerca de esta escucha

This week, Debi and Sam are joined by Peter Gentala, president of the Center for Arizona Policy. Peter was formerly an attorney with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

Please note that while this episode is not sexually explicit, it does discuss adult topics. Please preview before allowing young children to listen.

Peter, Debi, and Sam discuss the issue of sexual exploitation of minors on the internet, including the growing number of "sextortion" cases. In those instances, teenage boys are either enticed, tricked or threatened into sending sexually explicit content to someone who then blackmails them. There have been a number of suicides connected to this crime.

Peter, Debi, and Sam discuss the need to change some of our federal and state-level laws to better protect victims and to prevent the targeting of children. This includes a need to revisit Section 230, which shields internet companies from liability for actively distributing or refusing to remove child sexual abuse material. (CSAM)
