  • Killer Elephants (1976): Elephant-walking into relaxation
    Jun 23 2025

The story so far: So much happens in the Movie Hole (like dying, killer robots, killer clowns, magic mole scrolls, etc) that sometimes it's nice to take a break from all the insanity.

Who knew other people could check-out movies from the Movie Hole?! Well when Moleman closes a door, he opens a window, so we make do with what we have and check out the 1976 animal exploitation Thai action film Killer Elephants! This American cut of the film involves non-stop action and elephant excitement, but that won't stop us from diverging into discussions about video game logic, teacup elephants, and our dream to elephant walk across America! So saddle up, grab your chicken-on-a-stick, and stuff your trunk, we're doing the elephant!

  • Altered States (1980): In search of the true self
    Jun 16 2025

Eric’s been mysteriously trapped in the bathroom… with the brain-in-a-jar. Greg and Dan investigate. What could possibly go wrong?

This week, the boys dive into the brain-melting madness of Altered States (1980)—a film that asks the big questions, like: “What happens if I eat a mountain of mushrooms and take a naked nap in a sensory deprivation tank? Will I turn into a monkey?” Join them as they discuss sandwich parties, six-eyed goat head fashion, prank deaths, and the unhinged brilliance of Ken Russell. Let’s get weird.

  • Mad Foxes (1981): Let's illkay azisnay
    Jun 9 2025

The story so far: After last week's discovery of an inter-dimensional radio (dubbed THEO) built from parts harvested from Greg's doomed foray into robotics (also dubbed THEO), Eric's up to something in the bathroom with the brain-in-a-jar...

Well well well, look what time it is. It's time for you to be right here, reading this, hopefully avoiding some work. It's also time for us to go back to our roots and discuss a trashy exploitation film from the early 80's! This week we break down 1981's Mad Foxes, a notorious and frequently-banned Swiss revenge movie about a womanizing, wealthy man who has a score to settle with a gang of n*zi bikers. It's got a cool car, chases, explosions, grenades, mall ninjas, yellow bath water, dying n*zis, and SO MUCH male nudity. What more could you want?

It's so hard to write about this movie without using words that could trigger content blockers hooooly moly.

The story so far: Over a year into living in an underground movie store run by an anthropomorphic moleman, new technology opens up our world...

This week, Greg puts wires into a brain and somehow we connect to mystical radio waves and here ourselves in...another dimension?! We stumble into a random show where we work at a men's nail salon? AND we hear Greg discussing a Bigfoot cryptid! So with cryptids on the mind, why not pop in theBigfoot-Jaws-rip-off film Creature From Black Lake (1976) to kill some time?! While digging into the danger of monsters in the woods, we discuss flirting with old woman, Bigfoot as the perfect soaking partner, math class for English majors, and Bigfoot in a skin suit! • Disembodied (1998): All in all, it's just another brain in a jar
    May 26 2025

The story so far: Over a year into living in an underground movie store, we kind of add a new friend into the mix...

After cleaning up the mess of T.H.E.O. from the previous week, we now have to take care of a brain! And we all know there's only one way to learn how to do that -- watch a weirdo film that has vibes of Frank Henenlotter and David Lynch! In this case, it's the new Bleeding Skull 4K release of Disembodied from 1998! But we can't stop with just learning, so we discuss our digusting hotel stories and the Book of Shrek from the Bible, as well as answer the age old question: cake or pie?

Also, don't forget to check out our new show Greg's Cryptid Corner! New releases every Wednesday talking about cryptids, monsters, aliens, and other weird and creepy things! Link right below to find it on your podcatchers!

  • 11:14 (2003): Use it or lose it
    May 19 2025

The story so far: Its been over a year since the boys were trapped in the magical movie hole and Greg, ever the intrepid one, has a surprise in the works to help them all choose movies...

Hello! Hi! Welcome back! You look so good! Really happy to see you today. How's your day been? Mine's been pretty good. Just sitting here trying to write a description for a podcast. You ever hear of a movie called "11:14"? Well this week we're talking about it! We break down this much-acclaimed 2003 multi-narrative-hydra-of-a-movie while getting distracted by severed dingdongs, a taxidermy museum for dead animal actors, an argument over how best to dispose of a body, and coin the term "coitus mortus".

Also in other exciting news, Greg is spearheading a spinoff podcast that will be releasing every Wednesday! It's called Greg's Cryptid Corner and it's a cute lil thing where we sit around a campfire while he tells us spooky stories about cryptids from around the world. They're short and fun and we hope you like them. Here's the link to subscribe to that bad boy:

  • Flatwoods Monster: Red eyes, Flatwoods, can't lose (a Stabby Stabby spinoff podcast)
    May 14 2025

Welcome to the first episode of Greg's Cryptid Corner, a new podcast from us here at Stabby Stabby! We're dropping the first episode into our main feed, but it will be its own show with its own feed with new episodes every Wednesday! Hope you guys enjoy!

Today we're camping outside of Flatwoods, West Virginia. We'll figure out where we all fall on the cryptid-believer scale, and then discuss the Flatwoods Monster incident of 1952, metal dresses, and 50s sci-fi tropes, all while tripping through the mend-bending concepts of ultradimensionality and the superspectrum. Come along with us on our first outing into the woods!

  • Born of Fire (1987): Bone flute symphonies
    May 12 2025

The story so far: Still stuck in the movie hole for over a year now, the boys search for new ways to entertain themselves.

This week on Stabby Stabby, we make due with what we have (i.e. a pile of bones!) and start a new band! Sadly none of us know how to play bones, so we check out the folklore-heavy British/Turkish coproduction of 1987s Born of Fire to get us there! While marveling at the beauty of the Turkish landscapes, we delve into discussing rental coffins and naked bald men, and invent both a new Dairy Queen movie tie-in flavor AND a specialty pair of cargo shorts! Buckle in as we get confused about Djinn lore and boba tea moth babies because it's a wild ride!
