  • #90 - Sam Long, Start Lists and a Bit of Controversy
    Jun 13 2025

This week we cover the latest in triathlon, starting with a pretty wild story... Oscar Pistorius was on the start list for 70.3 Durban. We break down how it happened, the reaction it sparked, and whether there’s any place for him in the sport.

Lionel Sanders is back and setting his sights on a big performance in Nice. We talk about his mindset shift and why we’d love to see him go all-in on 70.3 Worlds.

Eagleman 70.3 delivered exciting racing, with Sam Long just getting the better of Trevor Foley and Lucy Charles-Barclay holding Chelsea Sodaro at bay from start to finish.

We preview Ironman Cairns, where Brayden Currie, Mike Phillips and Jamie Riddle lead the men’s field, and Jackie Herring and Hannah Berry are set for a great race on the women’s side. There’s also a quick look at what to expect from Ironman Austria.

To wrap things up, we dive into the PTO Vancouver start lists. The women’s race features Taylor Knibb and Lucy Charles-Barclay, with Maya Kingma possibly ready to shake things up. In the men’s field, Marten Van Riel looks back to his best, Rico Bogen is riding high after San Francisco, and Jelle Geens adds even more depth.

  • #89 - Record Breaking Weekend
    Jun 6 2025

This week we cover a huge few days in triathlon. Rico Bogen takes the win at T100 San Francisco, while Julie Derron puts together a brilliant performance to beat Taylor Knibb in the women’s race.

At Ironman Hamburg, Laura Philipp runs a stunning 2 hour 38 marathon to beat Kat Matthews and set a new Ironman world record.

WTCS Alghero delivered high drama with Cassandre Beaugrand bouncing back from injury to take the win and Miguel Hidalgo navigating a chaotic race to come out on top. At Ironman Brasil, Manoel Messias impressed with a 2 hour 26 marathon.

We also discuss the news that Will McCloy has officially joined the Ironman commentary team and reflect on what was, for the most part, a weekend of genuinely solid triathlon broadcasts.
