On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss different ways of surviving pet loss. Ours includes Denver Ruth.

  • Not A Cinderella Story
    May 15 2025

Some people are fortunate enough to have the movie kind of fairy tale love story. Until it all comes crashing to an end.

On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I’m honored to connect with one of those fellow love story members. I feel like they’re few and far between. The magical love!

Bethel Stevens is the author of the newly released book Not a Cinderella Story-A powerful story of love, loss, and perseverance when life goes off script. As an author, speaker, and mental health advocate, Bethel shares her deeply personal journey as a young widow navigating grief and rebuilding her life.

Her work empowers others to reimagine their futures with hope, purpose, and strength.

Bethel incorporates insights from bereavement science to shed light on the cognitive and emotional complexities of grief. A first-generation Ethiopian-American, she is passionate about helping others and creating authentic spaces for connection, healing, and community.

***A portion of proceeds from her book will be donated to the Pheo-Para Alliance, to support critical cancer research and awareness efforts of pheochromocytoma, the rare disease that her husband courageously battled.

  • It Takes A Village
    May 8 2025

    It’s been utter chaos.

I really wasn’t ok, Sassy still isn’t ok, and some of the people I really love and (thought I could) count on have been hurtful.

But I’m getting through it all - thanks to my village!

On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss surviving. It. Takes. A. Village!

But we live in a world that glamorizes the hustle and stigmatizes asking for help.

Newsflash: The world has it backwards!

    Happy NFL Draft Day!

It’s the reward I need for getting through this thing called life -

Plus my health. And - most importantly - Sassy’s!

On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss finding your progress in the chaos. Finding your superpowers in the mess. Finding your people.

  • Unapologetically Grieving
    Apr 15 2025

    Healing is Hard. Facts.

It’s less hard with the right people in your world. And as painful as grief is, it also instantly connects us.

I’m so unbelievably grateful to have today’s guest on The Be Ruthless Show in my life.

Jess Marie is a single mom to a teenage son. She works for the county at the local DSS, primarily with the homeless population and she has another part time job in a similar field. She started her podcast in June of 2022 called Unapologetically Overcoming. It discusses topics that usually have a negative stigma associated with them. Her hope is that by talking about such topics, people will see that they too can overcome difficult situations and hopefully the stigmas can be eliminated. She has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder. She’s also been a victim of domestic violence & gone through other traumatic experiences, such as the sudden loss of her younger sister, but has been able to overcome them and has found happiness again.

Jess launched her own life coaching business early in 2024 called Unapologetic Life Coaching LLC. She offers services that focus on self love, mindset transformation, gratitude practices, & how to overcome barriers so you can live a full, authentic, unapologetic life. She is currently in the process of becoming a certified grief coach. Since the unexpected loss of her sister, she has discovered new purpose in helping others navigate grief and loss, as it is vital to the healing process.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to concerts, & traveling. She’s also passionate about advocating for racial/social justice, women’s rights, and human rights.

Tune in to hear our important conversation about healing YOUR way. Unapologetically!

    Apr 10 2025

Have you ever had an aha about yourself? A realization about something that truly opens your eyes?

That’s me - currently. Shocked at how much I’m loving being back in Michigan. Realizing how much of myself I was missing all of the years in Colorado.

On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss how we can unknowingly get in our own way.
