  • MS 5: Pre- and Postnatal Anxiety
    Jun 23 2025

In this heartfelt episode of our miniseries, The Baby Basics: What No one Tells You, I step away from my paediatric physiotherapy role and speak as a mum. I open up about my personal experience with pre- and postnatal anxiety and depression. I talk about the moments I never expected, the feelings no one warned me about, and the quiet struggles behind the newborn photos. This is an honest conversation inspired by my own journey as well as the many mothers I have worked with who's worries for their baby has negatively impacted on those early days of becoming a parent.

I’ll also be sharing some gentle, practical tips that helped me navigate those tougher days. If you’re expecting, a new parent, or supporting someone who is, I hope this episode reminds you that you’re not alone and gives you some helpful advice.

With love to you and your baby,

    Lisa

  • Identifying, Understanding & Preventing Moulded Baby Syndrome: A Guide for New Parents
    Jun 13 2025

Thank you for tuning in to the fourth episode of this miniseries where I give you all the scoop on the stuff that nobody tells you before you have your baby!

Today I am talking about Moulded Baby Syndrome, because the issues it can cause are so easy to prevent - if you know how to spot it as soon as your baby is born!

I explain exactly what it is, what to look out for and if you are at risk of your baby having it. We will touch on the corrective treatment methods if your baby is already having consequences of it and guide you where to go for more help should you need it.

Hopefully you will be reassured after listening that you will be able to intervene early when your baby arrives or, for the older babies, have a plan of action to sort it out!

With love and best wishes for your baby,

    Lisa

  • Miniseries E 3: Baby Equipment: Helpful or Harmful?
    Jun 6 2025

Thank you for listening to the third instalment of this miniseries! This one is all about the equipment and "must-haves" for our babies that are currently on the market. Many of them are marketed as promoting aspects of your baby's development, but sadly this is often not the whole truth.
I wish I could share this information with every parent before they start shopping (or creating their baby shower lists!)
Let me share with you the most common equipments I see out there that can have a negative impact on your baby's development, how to use them more safely and what to do with your baby instead!
