    But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the Lord liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him. ( 2 Kings 5:20)
    Today’s daily devotional takes us into the sobering account of Gehazi’s downfall, a servant of Elisha who witnessed the healing power of God firsthand.

    After Naaman was miraculously cleansed of leprosy, Gehazi made a fateful decision—motivated by greed, he pursued Naaman and deceitfully acquired gifts that Elisha had deliberately turned down. Though Gehazi tried to hide his actions, God saw everything.This powerful moment reminds us of the danger of greed and the high cost of compromising our values. Have you ever felt the temptation to seize something that wasn’t truly yours?

    What’s striking is the contrast between the two hearts: Naaman, once a pagan soldier, experienced a radical conversion and carried soil from Israel back to his homeland as a sign of his devotion to God. His life reflected genuine transformation and gratitude. Gehazi, on the other hand, had the privilege of seeing God's work up close, yet allowed selfish desires to cloud his judgment.In chasing after worldly gain, Gehazi abandoned spiritual integrity. He disregarded the principles modeled by Elisha and failed to trust God's provision.

    When confronted, Elisha revealed that Gehazi’s sin had been exposed by God, resulting in a severe judgment: the leprosy that once afflicted Naaman would now cling to Gehazi and his descendants. ( 2 Kings 5:25-27)This stark outcome forces us to reflect: are there areas where we’re letting materialism or dishonesty creep into our lives? Are we choosing short-term benefit over long-term faithfulness?Let’s be inspired by Naaman’s transformation, and strive to cultivate a heart rooted in thankfulness and integrity. May our actions—especially when no one is watching—speak to the faith we profess.

    Have you ever felt surrounded by struggle, unsure how to respond? In *2 Chronicles 20*, King Jehoshaphat faced just that. An alliance of enemy armies was closing in, and fear could’ve easily taken hold. But instead, he led Judah into fasting, prayer, and—most powerfully—worship.

    That’s when God made a stunning promise: *“You won’t need to fight this battle. Stand firm, take your position, and see the salvation of the Lord.”* So Jehoshaphat placed worshippers ahead of the warriors. Their songs weren’t just noise—they were spiritual strategy. As they praised, God ambushed their enemies.

    We often think of worship as something quiet or reflective. But in moments of uncertainty, it becomes something fierce. Worship is an act of faith, a declaration of trust, and a weapon in spiritual warfare.

    Ask yourself: **What would it look like to send worship ahead of your worry?**

    When life feels like a battlefield, praise refocuses your eyes. It shifts the conversation from fear to faith, from the problem to God’s power. You’re not ignoring the struggle—you’re anchoring yourself in the One who has already won the victory.

    So today, lift your voice before lifting your hands in stress. Let praise go first. Worship isn’t just the song—it’s the strategy.
