    May 28 2025

"Something we cannot see protects us from something we do not understand. The thing we cannot see is culture, in its intrapsychic or internal manifestation. The thing we do not understand is the chaos that gave rise to culture. If the structure of culture is disrupted, unwittingly, chaos returns. We will do anything - anything - to defend ourselves against that return." - Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief

We are continuing our series today with our very own Jay Doran going through Dr. Jordan B. Peterson's book, Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, and giving his own interpretation of the text. Today, we are taking a closer look at rule number four which states: "Notice that opportunity lurks where responsibility has been abdicated." This is certainly a rule with a lot of depth as it is calling out opportunity for those who know where and when to seek it out. We hope you enjoy this episode of The Culture Matters Podcast.

We are continuing our series today with our very own Jay Doran going through Dr. Jordan B. Peterson's book, Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, and giving his own interpretation of the text. Our focus for this episode is on rule 3 which states: "Do not hide unwanted things in the fog." At a base level, this could be interpreted as facing your fears or your demons or something as simple as conflict with a co-worker. However, at a deeper level, perhaps this rule could be based around something even deeper within yourself. Jay is going to get to the heart of it on this episode of The Culture Matters Podcast.

In Jay's first discussion about rule 2, he is tackling the meaning behind the rule which is entitled "Imagine Who You Could Be and Then Aim Single-Mindedly at That". Knowing what you want and being steadfast in that pursuit is the name of the game on this episode of The Culture Matters Podcast.
