  • 153: Feel your Best Every Day: Habits and Rituals for Weekly Energy & Seasonal Balance
    May 24 2025

Do you ever feel like your mood rides the weather?

One sunny day, you're full of energy, motivated, and ready to take on the world.

Then, the next day is gray and chilly, and suddenly everything feels a little harder and heavier.

If your mood rises and falls with the weather, you're not alone!

And there's good news: You don't have to be at the mercy of it.

Our routines, habits, and rituals are what are supporting us and grounding us.

Today, on Episode #153 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are looking at how each day of the week contributes to our weekly energy and seasonal balance.

Every day has its own rhythm and energy — some of this is cultural, some of it seasonal, and some even rooted in ancient traditions like Ayurveda and astrology.

Have you ever truly thought about the energy of a particular day or the difference between the energy that you have on a Monday compared to a Friday compared to a Sunday?

Being very present with this energy can help you feel better in the moment, regardless of what you - or the weather - is doing.

Starting your week with intention, rolling into momentum and action, maintaining balance and setting the flow for your week are key in keeping this seasonal energy going.

Notice what each day brings — not just in your calendar, but in your body and your energy. Use the habits we talk about today as invitations, not obligations.

Soak up the sunny days. And, when it's gray or rainy - be your own sunshine!

  • 152: The Habit of Slowing Down: How to Avoid Spring Overwhelm
    May 17 2025

Spring finally feels like it has arrived!

We have moved away from the mucky middle and broken through to the wonderful spring season we have been waiting for.

Only, now, many of us find ourselves trying to hurry spring along to summer.

    Spring naturally brings energy.

In Ayurveda - and nature itself - spring is a time of renewal and growth.

We go from the heavy, inward energy of winter to a bursting outward “do more, move more” energy.

That’s beautiful … but it can also be overwhelming.

This time of year, I often hear my clients say: “I am way behind this year … I feel like I have to catch up … There’s so much to do, and I don’t know where to start.”

So, why are we feeling hurried or rushed? Where are we going? Where else do we need to be other than right here in this present moment?

There is a benefit to each stage (and season) that we go through in every aspect of our life

Today, on Episode #152 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, I’m sharing my top 5 simple ways to stay mindful in the spring rush.

    1. Start with your breath
    2. Do one thing at a time
    3. Use nature as a reminder to slow down
    4. Set realistic spring expectations (and lower your expectations)
    5. Bookend your day with gratitude and calm

Instead of rushing spring, try being in the moment of spring. Being engaged in spring.

Rushing through spring without awareness can lead to burnout, frustration and even being disconnected from the joy of this season.

    Love,

  • 151: How to Release Decluttering Shame: An Ayurvedic Perspective to Help you Feel Lighter and More Aligned
    May 10 2025

    Picture this, Habit Thrivers:

It's Saturday morning, spring is in the air, and the spring cleaning bug has bitten.

With a look of determination and a handful of trash bags, you open the spare bedroom/garage/closet, put your hands on your hips, and say:

Look at all of this crap...

    You've been there, right?

    I sure have.

Today, on Episode #151 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are discussing how to use an Ayurvedic perspective to eliminate decluttering shame and really embrace who we really are.

No matter if you are a Vata, Pitta or Kapha woman, we all have our strengths and weaknesses - and it's no different when it comes to dealing with the clutter in our lives.

The Vata woman feels overwhelmed by clutter. She starts in one place, gets distracted by another project or a memory, and ends up with a handful of unfinished piles.

The Pitta woman hates clutter. She's irritated by it (and anyone who gets in her spring-cleaning way). She is so focused and determined on decluttering that she dismisses and misses out on other opportunities while she dives into her decluttering mission.

The Kapha woman feels an emotional pull to her clutter. She has a hard time letting things go, because her emotions are tied to those objects. She may take one look at the messy drawer or closet and be instantly stuck.

But, while understanding our Dosha helps us understand what keeps us stuck on clutter, it can also help us move past our limitations, embrace who we are and make new progress.

So join me today, and find out what decluttering approaches speak directly to the woman you already are.

    Love,

    Lorrie xoxox
