  • E05 Animal Attacks
    May 23 2025

This video dives into a mixture of human animal encounters, which end up being both tragic and extraordinary. It opens with the harrowing account of the USS Indianapolis shark attacks of 1945, where hundreds of shipwrecked U.S. sailors were left adrift in shark-infested waters, resulting in one of the deadliest shark attacks in history.

The story then turns to a case of an elephant attack at a funeral in India, where a wild elephant trampled a woman, then returned during her funeral to attack her body as if it had a personal vendetta.

Next is the tragic case of Tilikum, the orca involved in multiple trainer deaths, whose story raised serious questions about animal captivity.

The video also talks about Steve Irwin, the beloved wildlife expert whose unexpected death from a stingray strike in 2006 stunned the world and became one of the rarest animal related fatalities ever recorded.

Finally, it lo oks at the Gombe Chimpanzee War, a violent conflict between chimpanzee groups studied by Jane Goodall that revealed disturbing behavior in these creatures. Each one of these cases blends terror and astonishment into one, showing that there are some consequences when it comes to connecting with the animal world.
