  • Paige's Perspective: How to Survive Maycember Without Losing Yourself
    May 23 2025

It’s May—aka Maycember—that time of year when school events, sports, recitals, end-of-year chaos, and mental overload all collide. If you're feeling stretched thin, resentful, or like you might snap over a missed sign-up genius… you're not alone.

In this episode of Paige’s Perspective, I’m talking about the emotional weight of this season, what you can give yourself grace on, and what should stay nonnegotiable—even when it feels like you’re drowning in to-dos.

    You’ll hear about:
    – Why the crockpot still sitting on my counter is not a crisis
    – What I had to let go of to show up for what matters
    – How to protect your self-care in the middle of the madness
    – And why this season is temporary—but your well-being isn’t

This episode is part validation, part pep talk, and part reminder that you don’t have to do it all—you just have to protect the parts of you that matter most.

  • What Recovery Gets Wrong: The Partner's Side of the Story
    May 21 2025

Have an episode suggestion? Text us!

The recovery world loves to talk about healing, but what about the people most impacted by the chaos? In this brutally honest episode, Matt and Paige pull back the curtain on what treatment centers, therapists, and traditional recovery programs often miss: the spouse’s experience.

Why are partners immediately labeled codependent? Why is their anger pathologized while the addict’s pain is protected? Why are they expected to forgive before they’ve even been allowed to grieve?

Matt and Paige dive into their own story, breaking down how betrayal trauma affects the brain, what real accountability looks like, and how programs often rush to protect the addicted person at the expense of their partner’s healing. Drawing from personal experience and insights from experts like Dr. Jake Porter, they explore:

    • How trauma shows up in the body and brain
    • Why forgiveness without accountability is gaslighting
    • The myth of “you just need to understand addiction”
    • Why codependency is not a diagnosis, and not always accurate
    • What couples actually need to rebuild trust and safety
    • The missing ingredient in most treatment programs: the spouse or partner

This episode is for anyone who's ever been told they were "part of the problem" simply for being hurt. If you’re tired of the recovery narrative leaving you out, this one’s for you.

  • Paige's Perspective: Back to the Basics. Stop Excusing the Inexcusable
    May 16 2025

Have an episode suggestion? Text us!

You don’t need more clarity. You need permission to trust what you already know.

This episode is about cutting through the noise, the over-explaining, and the endless justifications. Paige brings it back to the basics: it’s not about the substance — it’s about the behavior. Always has been.

You’ll hear the truth about how we overcomplicate addiction by focusing on trauma, diagnoses, and potential while ignoring the very real, repeated harm that’s happening in front of us. This episode explores the toxic behaviors we’ve normalized in relationships — from gaslighting and manipulation to walking on eggshells and calling it love.

If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in the cycle of waiting, overanalyzing, or minimizing what you feel, this episode is a wake-up call. Paige speaks to the confusion many partners feel when recovery culture focuses entirely on the addict and leaves you questioning your own sanity, worth, and needs.

You’ll be reminded that your gut is not lying, your needs are not too much, and your peace matters. Whether you’re in the relationship, out of it, or unsure, this conversation will help you reconnect with your own truth and stop making someone else’s healing your responsibility.

My husband and I have been on a roller coaster for 2 years and addiction relapse has been the icing on the cake. I have friends to talk to, but nobody understands this life if you aren’t living in it. I have gained so much comfort, confidence, clarity, and guidance from these podcasts. I was sitting in quicksand and had no plan of how to get out until I found TWFO. I can’t thank Matt and Paige enough.

I feel so understood.

I’ve only listened to a few episodes so far and I started from the beginning. I couldn’t have found y’all at a better time in my life and I’m so grateful. I’m learning so much so far. I can’t wait to hear more and get myself back on track.
