  • Trek Book Club 08: The Long Night

    Host Peter (@PeterTrek1) is joined by book club member Adam (@OzTrekkie) to discuss the DS9 novel “The Long Night” by Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch. This DS9 novel focuses on the discovery of the lost Jibetian treasure ship, the Nibix, which may also contain its long-lost leader, the Supreme Ruler. As Sisko, Dax, Bashir and O’Brien, with help from Kira who was left charge of DS9, try to learn about the secrets hidden on the Nibix, Jake and Nog discover a hidden area on DS9.

    In this episode, host Peter (@PeterTrek1) is joined by book club member Michael Romero (@mralligatorcw) to discuss the novel “The Lost Years” by J.M. Dillard. This TOS novel focuses on the time period just after the completion of the Enterprise’s 5-year mission and before the start of “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”. The book provided more background on Kirk’s decision to accept an Admiralty position as well as backstories for Spock and McCoy which were hinted at during the beginning of TMP.
