After a South Carolina judge dismissed Michael Colucci’s murder charge last week in the strangulation death of his wife in 2015, Mandy and Liz noticed a trend … members of the media seemed to be deviating from the facts of the case in favor of carefully coddling Michael by pushing his narrative for him. But for Sara-Lynn Colucci, they did no such thing. Instead they were careless with their words and grossly mischaracterized what her state of mind was in the weeks leading up to her death. After a special episode of Cup of Justice this week with Sara-Lynn’s daughter, Bishop Venters, in her first public interview, the mission became clear. Bishop is ready to fight for justice for her mom.     Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell have spent the past year preparing for Charleston-area good ole boy Michael Colucci to be tried again for the 2015 murder of his wife, Sara-Lynn Moore Colucci. Twice a retrial was scheduled. And twice it didn’t happen. On Tuesday, after the jury had been seated, South Carolina Judge Roger M. Young quashed the indictment of Colucci and dismissed what was to be a two-week trial and the end of what had become the oldest open murder case in the state. For 10 years, Sara-Lynn’s family, including her mother and her only daughter, Bishop, who was a child at the time her mother died, have had to sit silently time and time again as the justice system continued to fail them. What didn’t help matters? Original prosecutor and current public official Megan (Burchstead) Burleson’s surly and defensive behavior on the stand on Tuesday… 😡The judge’s decision, though fair, was utterly disappointing and has Mandy and Liz fired up and ready to fight hard for justice to be served. I have never been a big listener of podcasts, but I am obsessed with the Murdaugh Murders Podcast. I read about the Murdaugh family in the news and found this podcast. Mandy Matney and her team go above and beyond tracking down accurate information and continue to hold officials’ feet to fire to tell the truth. Absolutely well done!!

I am from Pac NW and don't know the Southern ways of controlling and dispensing power. I thank you for filling in all the gaps in the story with important little details you glean from locals. Alex was angry with Paul because he was such a spoiled brat who looked to amount to nothing but a drunk bully and an embarrassment. Certainly not a silver-tongued lawyer, the only career worth a damn in that family.
