Acerca de esta escucha
Welcome to The Deja Review, the podcast where we’ll take you on an intergalactic journey through two wildly different versions of “War of the Worlds”. One is the classic 1953 sci-fi spectacle where aliens invade Earth in slow-moving ships, and the other is the 2005 remake, where aliens invade Earth in fancy CGI tripods while Tom Cruise runs around trying to get rid of his kids, whilst in a constant state of panic like he just discovered someone stole his coffee. In this episode, we’ll explore the sci-fi classic, where Martians land in a fairly innocent way, and the remake, where they land with only slightly more laser beams, chaos, and screaming than a Rammstein concert. Get ready for the most absurd, space-age showdown as we dissect the strangely compelling and wildly inconsistent alien invasions that have shaped two very different visions of humanity's impending doom.Spoiler alert: both involve a lot of people running away from explosions and aliens who clearly didn’t take a citizenship test before invading Earth.Buckle up, folks. It's going to be a bumpy ride. Two long time friends, one podcast.
This is The Deja Review.
