  • EP: 55 - Somatic Eating: Learn how to stop emotional eating through relating to your food and body with Becca Dollard
    Jun 18 2025

In this powerful and heart-centered conversation, Stephanie welcomes Becca Dollard—a somatic healing practitioner and holistic life coach—onto the show. Becca supports high-functioning moms who’ve done the work through therapy and personal growth but are yearning for a deeper, more embodied connection to themselves. Together, they dive into the topic of somatic eating, exploring how to transform your relationship with food and your body through felt experience rather than just logic or willpower. This episode sets the stage for understanding how emotions live in the body and how healing begins when we listen to what our body is truly asking for—beyond diets, rules, or routines. Becca shares how her personal journey with emotional eating and body image laid the foundation for her professional work, and how “self-care” has evolved into something more intuitive and nourishing. Becca shares how so many women live in a fog of dissociation—numb, disconnected, and operating from unconscious habits rather than intentional choice. Together, they explore how emotional eating isn't inherently “bad,” but rather a cue to look deeper at our unmet needs and unprocessed sensations living in the body. The conversation touches on everything from the cultural obsession with mindset, to the ways we bypass our emotional signals, to why food becomes a fast and familiar tool for numbing when we haven’t learned how to truly feel. You’ll walk away with a radically compassionate framework for shifting from autopilot behaviors to embodied choice, and from numbing to nourishment—no shame required.

🔑 What You'll Learn: What somatic eating really means How emotional and physiological healing are deeply connected Becca’s personal journey through extremes in health, self-care, and identity The importance of tuning into the body vs. following external rules Why motherhood can be a profound catalyst for inner transformation

The 4 Tiers of Eating (Framework):

    1. Eating for Pleasure – Often mistaken for joy, but can be numbing

    2. Eating for Energy – Quick, convenient, driven by fatigue or busyness

    3. Eating for Recovery – Restrictive, reactive, rule-based eating

    4. Eating for Health – A dynamic, intuitive, collaborative relationship with food

Quotes to Remember: "Motherhood is a season of massive up-levels and refinement by fire." "I feel so good—not just mentally and emotionally, but physiologically—because I stopped outsourcing what my body needs."

  • EP: 54 - Reclaiming Fertility and Family Health with Traditional Foods: Sally Fallon on Nourishing Traditions, and eating more butter, raw milk and liver
    Jun 11 2025
If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the noise of modern diet trends and conflicting advice, you’re not alone. But today, we're going to unravel the truth about the foods our bodies were truly made to thrive on—and how returning to these ancestral eating practices can unlock our greatest potential. In this episode, I’m joined by Sally Fallon. Sally is a pioneering force in the world of nutrition, and her work is a beacon for those seeking a more nourishing way of living. Co-founder of the Weston A. Price Foundation and the author of Nourishing Traditions, Sally’s mission is simple: to revive the ancestral eating practices that have been the foundation of human health for centuries. Her work is a testament to the power of nutrient-dense foods and their role in everything from conception to mental health. Sally’s insights on fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum health are eye-opening, highlighting the critical importance of what we eat long before conception, and how the right nutrients support a healthy pregnancy and recovery. In this episode, we explore: Weston A. Price's Research: A dentist who studied the diets of healthy populations in the 1930s and 40s. Found that nutrient-dense diets with high amounts of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, K2), no processed foods, and no vegetarianism supported excellent health. Key Nutrient-Dense Foods: Focus on butter from grass-fed animals, egg yolks, liver, raw milk, and seafood. These foods are essential for optimal health, particularly for conception, pregnancy, and fetal development. Diet for Preconception and Pregnancy: Both men and women should consume nutrient-dense foods, like fish eggs, liver, butter, and egg yolks, for at least six months before conception. Vitamin A is especially crucial for fetal cell differentiation during pregnancy. Fertility Crisis: Modern fertility issues are largely due to nutrient deficiencies, especially in fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin A. Traditional diets can improve fertility and help women carry pregnancies to full term. Breastfeeding and Postpartum Health: Proper nutrition supports pregnancy, postpartum recovery, breast milk supply, and overall maternal health. Adequate nutrients help prevent postpartum depression and ensure an easier recovery. Raw Milk Formula: Advocated by Sally Fallon Morrell for babies when breastfeeding is not possible. A raw milk-based formula is healthier than commercial infant formulas, which often lack essential nutrients like cholesterol and contain harmful ingredients like vegetable oils and sugars. Critique of Commercial Formula: Commercial baby formulas lack cholesterol and animal fats necessary for infant growth and development. They often contain unhealthy additives, seed oils, and sugars that are unsuitable for infants. Human Milk for Human Babies: Refers to Facebook groups where breast milk is shared or found. These groups provide an alternative to formula feeding, with a focus on transparency regarding donor health and lifestyle. Breastfeeding and Infant Nutrition: The speaker supports providing milk to friends before babies are born to support breastfeeding. Also advocates for a return to wet nursing as a valued profession and emphasizes the importance of introducing solid foods like egg yolks and liver puree by six months to prevent iron deficiency. The Cholesterol Debate: Discusses the cultural fear of cholesterol and the risks of statin medications, which interfere with fat-soluble vitamins like K2 and A. These medications may worsen heart disease, despite being widely prescribed. Advocates for a diet rich in traditional fats like butter and animal fats for heart health. The Misconception of Lean Protein: Critiques the obsession with lean protein, such as skinless chicken breasts and fat-free ground beef. Historically, cultures valued fatty cuts of meat, which are necessary for vitamin A utilization and overall health. Overconsumption of lean protein can lead to vitamin A deficiencies. The Dangers of Processed Protein and Protein Drinks: Protein drinks are harmful, especially for kidney health, and do not provide balanced nutrition. Whole, nutrient-dense foods like eggs, bacon, and salami are recommended for better health and kidney function. Animal Fats and Mental Health: Animal fats, particularly arachidonic acid, are crucial for mental health and immune function. A lack of animal fats may contribute to depression and addiction. Poor diets high in sugar and low in healthy fats can lead to behavioral issues in children and the overprescription of medication. Raising Children with Traditional Foods: The speaker shares their approach to raising children on whole, nutrient-dense foods like eggs, cod liver oil, and meats. By setting an example with home-cooked meals, their children continue the tradition of healthy eating in their own families. Getting Nutrient-Dense Foods for Children: Focus on adding butter, animal fats, eggs, liver, and raw dairy to children's diets while ...

  • EP: 53 - GAPS Diet, Antibiotics, Childhood Fevers, Gut Healing and the Deeper Purpose of Healing with Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride
    Jun 4 2025

This episode, I sat down with Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, renowned author of the GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) books, medical doctor, and pioneer of holistic approaches to healing through food and lifestyle. Dr. Campbell-McBride joins us for a deeply insightful, no-holds-barred conversation on the foundational role of the gut in overall health, the devastating impact of modern medicine when misused, and the powerful healing potential of nature-aligned living. Expect to walk away with a fresh (and possibly radical) perspective on illness, antibiotics, pregnancy, childhood immunity, emotional healing, and the deeper purpose of human life. This episode is both an inspiring wake-up call and a heartfelt invitation to return to the real world—to nature, to love, and to the innate wisdom of the body. Join us to learn about: Pregnancy and Gut Flora Pregnant women are especially prone to thrush and imbalances in microbial flora due to hormonal and immune shifts. Dr. Campbell-McBride emphasizes the use of kefir topically and internally to restore healthy microbial balance in warm, sweaty areas like under the breasts, groin, and armpits. The Root of Recurring UTIs and Cystitis Chronic cystitis is often a result of disrupted flora in the urethra and bladder, commonly due to repeated antibiotic use. Rather than resolving the root cause, antibiotics perpetuate a vicious cycle of infection and microbial damage. Personal Healing Stories with GAPS I’m sharing my journey with chronic UTIs, candida, and digestive issues, highlighting the profound shifts experienced on the GAPS diet. Even as someone accustomed to fermented foods, the GAPS protocol induced powerful detox reactions that unveiled deeper healing layers. Antibiotics as a Last Resort While life-saving in emergencies, antibiotics are likened to a "nuclear bomb" for the gut. Overuse prevents the body from using its microbial workforce to detox, leading to long-term consequences, including cancer and chronic illness. Fever as a Healing Tool A child's first fever is a natural and crucial detoxification event. Suppressing fever with medication can hinder the body’s ability to clear prenatal and early-life toxins. Instead, fever should be respected and supported, not feared. Toxicity and Malnourishment as Root Causes of Disease All chronic illness stems from toxicity and a lack of proper nourishment. The body uses specific microbes to process different toxins, and interfering with these microbes blocks detoxification pathways, leaving the body burdened. The Body as a Microbial Ecosystem We are not individuals in isolation—we are microbial communities. The microbes are essential to our function, acting as our internal janitors, detoxifying agents, and repair systems. Health means supporting this inner ecosystem. The Technocratic Construct vs. The Real World Dr. Campbell-McBride contrasts the disharmonious, man-made technocratic world (which includes modern medicine, food, education, and more) with the balanced, self-healing real world of nature. She urges us to step out of artificial constructs and live in alignment with nature. Nature, the Creator, and Unconditional Love At the heart of healing is returning to the intelligence of the creator—nature—and living in unconditional love. This, she says, is the true purpose of human life: to love wholly and to align ourselves with the energy of creation. • EP: 52 - The Hidden Dangers of Dentistry with Dr. Griffin Cole
    May 28 2025

If you’ve ever assumed the dentist’s office was a place of healing, this episode might just turn that belief on its head. Today, we're diving into the world of biological dentistry and exploring how conventional dental practices may be exposing us to hidden toxins—and what we can do to protect ourselves and our families. In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Griffin Cole. Dr. Cole has been practicing mercury-safe biological dentistry since 1993 and is a leading voice in the movement toward safer, more holistic dental care. He is a master in both naturopathic and integrative biological dental medicine, and he’s played a key role in educating practitioners through the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology). His passion for systemic wellness and advocacy for dental reform is inspiring—and eye-opening. Dr. Cole’s work connects the dots between oral health and overall wellness, revealing that what happens in your mouth has powerful implications for your whole body. In this episode, we explore: What Is Biological Dentistry? Unlike conventional dentistry, biological dentistry takes a functional medicine approach—looking at the whole body, lifestyle, and systemic impacts of dental care. Mercury and Fluoride in Dentistry: While mercury fillings are on the decline, fluoride is still widely used in dental products and treatments. Dr. Cole shares why fluoride is a major concern and how it impacts everything from thyroid health to IQ and kidney function. The Truth About Fluoride: Fluoride is not just in toothpaste—it’s in floss, dental materials, water, and even certain teas. Dr. Cole outlines how it accumulates in the body, how it interferes with enzymes and hormones, and why it's now being legally challenged in the U.S. The Recent EPA Lawsuit: A landmark federal ruling against the EPA for failing to regulate fluoride safety. New meta-analyses show a strong link between prenatal fluoride exposure and reduced IQ in children. Safe Alternatives to Fluoride: From hydroxyapatite toothpaste to iodine rinses and ozone therapy, Dr. Cole offers actionable and effective alternatives for cavity prevention and oral health. The Root Canal Controversy: Root canals can harbor chronic infections and lead to long-term health issues. Dr. Cole explains why conventional root canals are risky and what biological options exist, including ozone-assisted root canals and when extraction may be a better choice. Cavitations and Wisdom Teeth Removal: Learn why improperly healed extractions (especially wisdom teeth) can lead to cavitations—silent infections in the jaw—and how to screen for them using advanced imaging like cone beam CT scans. Orthodontics and Jaw Development: Pulling teeth to “make room” can compromise facial development and airway health. Dr. Cole advocates for expansion-focused orthodontics and shares what to avoid when seeking braces for your child. Raising Kids for Healthy Mouths: From liver pâté to egg yolks, nutrient-dense foods in early childhood lay the foundation for strong teeth and wide palates. Dr. Cole and Stephanie discuss ancestral nutrition as the best preventive dentistry. Creating Change Through Advocacy: The episode closes with a powerful reminder: being informed and vocal—no matter how “weird” it may feel—is how we shift culture, policy, and health outcomes for future generations. This episode will empower you to take control of your dental choices, make safer decisions for your family, and understand how oral health is deeply interconnected with your overall wellbeing. 🔗 Resources Mentioned: Find a Biological Dentist: IAOMT.org Contact Dr. Griffin Cole: griffincoledds@gmail.com

  • EP: 50 - How Slowing Down Will Help You Get Pregnant with Jennifer Edmonds
    Jan 22 2025

In this episode, we’re diving deep into the transformative power of nervous system regulation, yoga, and breathwork—all specifically tailored to fertility and overall female wellness. I’m joined by Jennifer Edmonds, an experienced yoga, Pilates, and breathwork teacher who specializes in fertility and women’s health. Through her own challenging fertility journey, Jennifer discovered how fertility yoga eased her anxiety, balanced her thyroid, and helped her conceive naturally. Now, she helps women around the world unlock their body’s innate healing potential. Join us for an inspiring conversation packed with insights into how slowing down and tuning in can reshape your fertility journey and well-being.

    Join us as we share:

Jennifer’s Fertility Journey: Jennifer shares her struggles with failed IVF and medical challenges, eventually finding success through fertility yoga. Her journey highlights the resilience of the female body and the importance of addressing stress and hormones holistically.

Stress and Fertility: Chronic stress activates the fight-or-flight response, which deprioritizes reproduction. Prolonged stress disrupts menstrual cycles, depletes minerals, and complicates conception.

Fertility Yoga and Hormone Balance: Yoga helps regulate the nervous system, reducing cortisol and promoting hormonal balance. Fertility yoga aligns with menstrual phases: restorative poses during menstruation, energizing practices near ovulation, and calming exercises post-ovulation. These tailored practices support hormonal health, pelvic circulation, and conception readiness.

Yoga for Hormonal Phases: Specific yoga practices for menstrual phases promote pelvic circulation, reduce stagnation, and calm the nervous system. Restorative practices post-ovulation encourage safety signals for conception or early pregnancy.

Adjusting Exercise for Fertility: High-intensity workouts can disrupt hormonal balance. Post-ovulation, lighter exercises reduce inflammation and better support fertility.

Shifting from High-Intensity to Mindful Practices: Slower practices like meditation and breathwork are more effective than vigorous exercise for stress management. Breathwork serves as an accessible entry point for calming the mind. Mind-body practices like yoga and meditation significantly improve fertility. A Harvard study showed a 50% higher IVF success rate in women using these practices.

Overcoming Meditation Challenges: Beginners often feel “bad” at meditation but can start small with guided or breath-focused sessions. Active practices like breathwork help ease Type A personalities into mindfulness.

Hypervigilance and Stress Awareness: Hypervigilance, often tied to trauma, leads to over-control and exhaustion. Recognizing stress signals like agitation or a racing heart is crucial to breaking the cycle. Build awareness by linking habits to physical stress responses. Focus on controllable factors like sleep, nutrition, and triggers. Somatic practices like yoga and breathwork help the body feel safe.

Personalized Stress Management: Experiment with different strategies to discover what works best. A diverse toolbox of techniques provides flexibility to manage various stressors.

Jennifer opens the doors to her program from Friday 31st January - Thursday 6th February 2025.
