The Grace Covenant Podcast with Pastor Earma presents the fourth session of the Women of Legacy Book Club. Orpah and Ruth are the featured women for this session. David and Goliath are two of the most famous men in the Bible. Then there’s that famous battle which is probably a close second in notoriety. But did you know two important and distinguished women are in the family tree of these men? The two women are Ruth and Orpah, daughters-in-law of Naomi.
These daughters-in-law of Naomi each make a decision at one of the greatest crossroads of their life. One goes on to marry one of giant Goliath's relatives who Abishai,King David's mighty men has to kill for his spiritual father later in life. And the other receives her own story written in the book of Ruth in the Bible as one of the matriarch's in the lineage and family tree of Jesus Christ.
