Welcome to The Daily Quote – a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, for May 21st.
Now, here’s the thing — I didn’t get the memo that it’s Talk Like Yoda Day. Which is ironic, because it’s also National Memo Day. So either someone’s playing a prank on me... or Master Yoda has taken over my calendar notifications. In honor of this unexpected twist in communication, talk like Yoda, I will. Confuse you, it may. Enlighten you, it must. Let’s move to today’s quote — another gem from the Jedi master himself:
Yoda, once said:
"Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose."Hmm. Heavy, this one is. Deep like Dagobah’s swamps, yes. Fear... fear leads to clinging. And clinging, to suffering it leads. What Yoda teaches here is detachment — not coldness, no, but clarity. To act with peace, free from fear, you must be. Mmm. Think of it this way — on Memo Day, we’re reminded of how important clear communication is. And sometimes, what clouds our communication most? Fear. Fear of saying the wrong thing. Fear of judgment. Fear of letting go of a narrative we’ve held onto too tightly. Let go, you must. Speak, you should. Even write that memo you’ve been avoiding, hmm? Fear not your inbox. Fear not the ‘send’ button. What holds you back, confront it. What weighs you down, release it. Like Yoda said — train yourself. Bit by bit. Word by word. And if today, talk like Yoda you do... well, delight your coworkers you might. Or bewilder them completely. Either way — memorable, the day will be. Thank you for joining me on this delightfully backwards, memo-filled journey. Until next time — do or do not, yes... but also: speak wisely, email boldly, and fearlessly let go.
I'm Andrew McGivern signing off for now but be back tomorrow, I will. Same pod time, same pod station.
May the quote be with you.
