  • Ukraine, Israel & Taiwan: What the Media Won’t Tell You | Prof. Peter Kuznick
    Jul 11 2025
In this episode of The Source, our senior editor Zain Raza speaks with Peter Kuznick, author and Professor of History at American University, about key geopolitical flashpoints that mainstream media often oversimplifies or ignores altogether. They begin with rising tensions in the Taiwan Strait, examining recent U.S. military deployments in the South China Sea, arms shipments to Taiwan, and China’s growing military response. The conversation then turns to Ukraine, where they assess the latest political and military developments and ask whether a negotiated peace is still possible. Finally, they explore the recent 21-day war between Israel, the United States, and Iran — and assess whether any of the stated objectives were actually achieved. Throughout the interview, Professor Kuznick offers critical historical context and examines whether current U.S. foreign policy is promoting global stability — or accelerating the path to greater conflict. ABOUT PETER KUZNICK: Peter Kuznick is Professor of History and Director of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University in Washington, D.C. He’s the co-author of the book The Untold History of the United States, written together with Hollywood film director and producer Oliver Stone. He was active in the Civil Rights and anti-Vietnam War movements and remains active in antiwar and nuclear abolition efforts.
