Reddit.com has comments from a surprisingly large number of offended men who think that getting your anus decorated is too much.

Happy New Year! Susie is off this week, but she has a very special interview to share with you from 2010. We'll be talking with best-selling author Christopher Ryan about his book Sex at Dawn: How We Mate, Why We Stray, and What It Means for Modern Relationships. This anthropologic look into myths versus sexual realities offers up a great dialog. Christopher and Susie discuss whether jealousy is an animalistic urge or can be controlled, how far back monogamy goes in our species, and why so many marriages become dysfunctional.

Susie spends the entire show with guest Daniel Bergner, whose book What Do Women Want? was on the New York Times best-seller list. The book is subtitled Adventures in the Science of Female Desire, and it disrupts the typical idea that women are more monogamous than men. Bergner's research also turns the tables on conventional thinking about women's desires and arousal.

The debate about teaching sex ed in schools is eternal, but now there's new resistance from some parents in California. Susie reads from a Time article by Alexandra Sifferlin about a group of parents who started a campaign to remove a sex-ed textbook from their local middle school, arguing that it was inappropriate for their 13- and 14-year-olds. Susie has a lot to say about this, noting that she finds parents to be overly protective and unaware of what teenagers already know.

No more guys, both young and old, horsing around as the announcer suggests that taking Viagra is as common as swallowing an aspirin. Now the company wants women to order the drug. Susie found the details in The New Yorker, in an article by Ian Crouch. She says this approach is more honest.

Susie is home for the holidays, but wants you to enjoy this show from 2010…. This week is Part One of a conversation with Yale psychology professor Paul Bloom about his new book How Pleasure Works: The New Science of Why We Like What We Like. A new law enacted in Los Angeles that mandates who must wear condoms is a deceptive and misguided attempt to be "helpful" in the fight against AIDS, says Susie. She talks about what this decree is really about: money and health-care fraud. It's not the porn industry that has a problem with spreading HIV; it's the poorest of poor L.A. citizens that are suffering with the escalating disease. Why aren't the legislators looking at that population and what they can do to help them? Because the porn industry is a sexy, scandalous, forbidden, and easier target, notes Susie.

The current Republican presidential candidates are not acting very Republican-like these days. A party that is known for traditional family and conservative values has been spicing it up… unintentionally. Yes, there's been a lot of talk about Open Marriage in recent days, and oh doesn't Susie think this is fun. On today's show, she reads an article from the New York Times in which several liberal sex-expert colleagues of hers discuss just what an open marriage is really all about.
