One of the most popular books ever to come from the pen of C. S. Lewis was written in the name of Screwtape, a senior devil experienced in the art of luring his 'patients' on earth to their own damnation in service of 'our father below' - and training others to do the same. Screwtape's correspondence with his nephew, an apprentice devil, came into Lewis' hands, he said, by a route he would not disclose, and many a listener has finished the collection longing for more of the insights they gained from its wisdom.

"Stop it!" cried Eustace. "It's some silly trick you are playing! Ow!" A great cold salt splash had broken right out of the frame and they were breathless from the smack of it, as well as being wet through. Lucy and Edmund, stuck with their awful cousin Eustace, suddenly find themselves in a picture of a sailing ship, the Dawn Treader, and realise they have been drawn back into the land of Narnia.

For many years an atheist, C. S. Lewis vividly describes the spiritual quest that convinced him of the truth and reality of Christianity, in his famous autobiography. "In the Trinity Term of 1929 I gave in, and admitted that God was God...perhaps the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England." Thus Lewis describes memorably the crisis of his conversion. The Chronicles of Narnia is one of the most famous and beloved series of fantasy novels, having sold over 100 million copies. The seven-part series was published between 1950 and 1956. It tells the story of the fantasy world of Narnia and the child protagonists who help shape it's history.

Clive Staples Lewis (November 29, 1898 - November 22, 1963), born in Belfast, Ireland, was a British writer, literary scholar, and Anglican lay theologian. He held academic positions in English literature at both Magdalen College, Oxford, and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He is best known as the author of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Screwtape Letters. The following recording is a discussion on prayer, God and Christianity.
