Perhaps the most famous epic poems ever written, the Iliad and the Odyssey have been read for nearly 3,000 years, making them the oldest written works in the Western world. La Epopeya de Gilgamesh o Poema de Gilgamesh es una narración de origen sumerio, considerada como la narraciónescrita más antigua de la historia. The Gods are against him and he faces many obstacles in his path which delay his return for many years. With her husband gone for so long Penelope assumes that he is dead and never to return.
