Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901, the son of Flora Disney (née Call) and Elias Disney, a Canadian-born farmer and businessman. He was of Irish, German, and English descent. Walt moved to Kansas City with his parents when he was seven years old, where he spent the majority of his childhood.
