小林多喜二による昭和初期のプロレタリア文学の代表作の音声ドラマ化。蟹工船とは、戦前にカムチャツカ半島沖海域で行われた北洋漁業で使用される、加工設備を備えた大型船。蟹工船には航海法は適用されず、危険な老朽船が改造して投入された。また労働法規も適用されなかった。そのため貧困層から募集した出稼ぎ労働者に対する非人道的な酷使がまかり通っていた。情け知らずの監督は労働者は劣悪で過酷な労働環境の中、暴力・虐待・過労や病気で次々と倒れてゆく。昨今のブラックな職場、パワハラが横行する社会状況は、歴史は繰り返すという言葉通りだ。先人が苦労して獲得した権利も、獲得した側が無自覚になればなし崩しになることを、意識させてくれる作品といえる。

Germany, 1589: the townspeople of Cologne pronounce a sentence of death on a mass murderer who has stalked the countryside in the guise of a ferocious wolf. Russia, 1812: retreating from Napoleon's invading forces, a merchant's daughter is rescued from bandits by a handsome partisan with a ravenous appetite. Brazil, 2080: the Doctor and Turlough arrive for the Rio de Janeiro carnival. Is wealthy heiress Ileana de Santos all that she seems? "The Falcon" radio series premiered in 1943, and continued until 1954. The Falcon was an alternate identity for detective Michael Waring. Like the Falcon movies, the radio plots mixed danger, romance and comedy in equal parts. Each show began with a telephone ringing and Michael Waring, The Falcon, answering the phone. Speaking with a woman whose voice was never heard, Waring would explain that he had an urgent situation in which he had to deal with. This led into the standard opening, followed by the week's tale of adventure.

The Whistler was one of radio’s top mystery programs airing from May 16, 1942 until September 22, 1955. Sponsored by the Signal Oil Company, The Whistler (Joseph Kearns, Gale Gordon, and Bill Forman) was an ominous narrator who knew the killer’s every move even before they did. The stories followed an effective formula in which a person's criminal acts were typically undone by their own missteps. The Whistler often commenting directly upon the action in the manner of a Greek chorus, taunting the criminal from an omniscient perspective.

Following an emergency landing, the Tardis arrives on a remote world orbiting a peculiar star - a pulsar which exerts an enormous gravitational force, strong enough to warp time. On further exploration the Doctor and his friends, Jamie and Zoe, discover a human outpost on the planet surface, inhabited by scientists who are there to study an ancient city. The city is apparently abandoned, but the scientists are at a loss to explain what happened to its sophisticated alien architects.
