Fairy Land

Erik Ravhandler er på vej hjem til den blomstrende vikingeby Birka efter et handelstogt, der har varet tre år. Med sig på skibet har han Ansgar – munken, der vil bringe kristendommen til det hedenske Norden. I Birka venter Eriks trolovede Jorunn. Men Eriks skib bliver overfaldet af sørøvere, og det kommer til at ødelægge alle hans planer for fremtiden. Til vikingernes land skildrer kampen mellem dem, der holder sig til de gamle nordiske guder, og tilhængerne af kristendommen. "I kæmpernes land" er Ole E. Christiansens gendigtning af bibelhistorien om David, som bekæmper og besejrer den mægtige Goliat og efterfølgende bliver konge. Sideløbende fortælles om filisterdrengen Jehu, der vokser op og bliver Davids kritiske og fortrolige rådgiver og vejleder. Den danske forfatter Ole E. Christiansen (f. 1935) er uddannet lærer og har arbejdet som både lærer og skolebibliotekar.
