Der kleine Lord) ihr erstes Kinderbuch, das sowohl vom Publikum als auch von den Kritikern begeistert aufgenommen wurde und lange Zeit auf Platz eins der Bestsellerliste rangierte. Der Roman wurde nach der Erstausgabe in vielen Sprachen sehr erfolgreich und ist mehrfach verfilmt worden. Das Buch war auch für die Autorin ein großer Erfolg.
