A unique volcano erupts while a young couple travels by car. With roads obstructed by pools of lava, they find themselves stranded near the mountain that threatens to erupt again at any minute. But due to the aftermath of the havoc, the landscape is unrecognizable, and the surrounding buildings prove to be unreliable sources of refuge. More things continue to go wrong, igniting even more tension throughout the survivors. After losing their four-year-old daughter to a mysterious pandemic, Benton and Jennifer, along with their friends, decide to leave the coast. But after encountering a storm, they are forced to dock at an unknown island. After discovering some unusual findings, they begin to realize that the island has a bit of a history. Once they become convinced that the pandemic actually originated there, they begin to wonder if they'll leave the island alive.
