A pandemic sweeps through the country, and soon spreads throughout the world. It leads to an economic collapse, but that's only the beginning. After Auden moves into another house, he finds a secret room that contains something shocking . . . something that might be connected to the epidemic, and as he seeks answers, he soon finds himself in tremendous danger.

A unique volcano erupts while a young couple travels by car. With roads obstructed by pools of lava, they find themselves stranded near the mountain that threatens to erupt again at any minute. But due to the aftermath of the havoc, the landscape is unrecognizable, and the surrounding buildings prove to be unreliable sources of refuge. More things continue to go wrong, igniting even more tension throughout the survivors.
