In a forest in Haiti, Waslene meets a much-needed friend while gathering firewood for her greedy stepmother.

Questa favola, tratta dai "Racconti delle Fate" che Collodi ha tradotto dal francese, è poco conosciuta, ma molto bella, lunga e avventurosa. Il racconto, assieme a "La Gatta Bianca" e "La bella dai Capelli D'Oro", è stato originariamente scritto da Madame d'Aulnoy. Il titolo originale proposto nella traduzione di Collodi è "La Cervia Bianca".
