Kevin Delevan wants only one thing for his 15th birthday: a Polaroid Sun 660. There's something wrong with his gift, though. In 1944, Oakwood's town council is desperate to save their young men from being lost to the devastation of the far-reaching effects of WWII, and as such make the unconscionable decision to make an evil deal with an agent of the devil in order to protect their own children, town's citizens and peaceful way of life. Little does journalism student Jim Norton know that his decision to write an article on the town, that seems to have been able to have escaped the pitfalls of progress for his school paper in 1984, will lead him down the treacherous rabbit hole that might end with his demise.

The story describes time and space travel by mind transfer. The premise is that a person in a given place and time can switch bodies with someone who is elsewhere or elsewhen. Other writers have re-used this concept in later works, such as drinking tea from Red Forest leaves in the television series 12 Monkeys and long-range communication stones in the Stargate SG-1 television series. As with other Lovecraftian works, this story features otherworldy alien beings that are not simply variations on humans or other familiar terrestrial animals.

The new generations are so overwhelmed by new content, that they often do not have the time to appreciate the good old classics. Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula, is a classic piece of literature. If you were to ask people what comes to mind when they think about vampires, most would be quick to reference Count Dracula or Stoker, his creator. Count Dracula has become an iconic figure in popular culture, and his name is now synonymous with vampire lore, having fully sunk his teeth into the horror genre.
