When Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed to the United States Supreme Court she created hope for the American people, especially Black girls with dreams of blazing a trail for those to come after them. Her nomination has actualized the portrayal of an America that the American people have been dying to see happen since the time of Harriet Tubman.

Edward Alexander Crowley (born October 12, 1875, Royal Leamington Spa, England - died December 1, 1947, Hastings) was a British occultist, writer, and mountaineer who was a practitioner of “magick” (as he spelled it) and called himself "the Beast 666". He was denounced in his own time for his decadent lifestyle and had few followers, but he became an iconic cult figure after his death.

Like most lawyers, Gwilliam was trained to win, and he's always been an expert at getting winning legal verdicts. His biggest personal (and eventually legal) wins, however, came after facing the shame and pain of a crushing courtroom defeat. This set him on a spiritual and psychological journey that caused him to look anew at every aspect of his life, including his history as a high school gang member (he still bears the scar of a poorly removed tattoo), failed marriages, and lots of partying.

While many books have been written from the perspective of judges, lawyers and various law enforcement officers, none have been written by a black woman court reporter. What began as my wanting to share my experiences has become another cover lifted off of the unjust justice system under which we currently live.
