This production is a full audio dramatization of one of the most popular horror stories of the past 200 years. In this story, a man (Edward) is afforded a place to stay in exchange for doing chores around the house. However, his landlord (Mr. Graves), a friendly and gracious old man, has one characteristic which drives Edward to the brink of madness: a pale blue eye. Eventually, Edward decides that he can't take the eye any longer, and despite his generally cordial relationship with Mr. Graves, is determined to kill him, thus ridding himself of the eye forever.

Deputy Marshal Russ Sittell is on special assignment from the Texas Rangers to work with Vaughan Steel in putting a stop to the rampant rustling in Pecos County. But everyone knows that local rancher - and mayor - Granger Longstreth doesn't want any Ranger interference in his town. When Russ takes a job on Longstreth's ranch, he's able to learn exactly how the rancher operates - and he witnesses the growing tension between Longstreth and Steele. A tension that can only lead to trouble.

Oh, and a hell-hound, one assumes.

In the depth of a cruel High Lonesome winter comes a cryptic message for Smoke Jensen. The letter tells of skullduggery by gold barons, railroad magnates, and Chinese tongs in San Francisco. Smoke knows only one person in the city by the bay: the well-rounded, open-natured Francie, mistress of one of the town's most notorious pleasure palaces.
