The way to grieve God’s way is to model how Jesus grieved. The Bible teaches that Jesus grieved appropriately, properly, and with an eternal perspective. His grief was uncomplicated and forward-looking. Jesus’ motivation for all of life was pleasing His Father which influenced His perspective and response to the death of Lazarus, the fall of Jerusalem, and His own death. He knew and applied the principle of gain through loss.

God is the only perfect parent; it is appropriate that we should choose him as our mentor in parenting. A lot of the behaviors that irritate us in our child, God has experienced with us - tantrums, questioning, disobedience, defiance, crying, and begging. He has experienced them all with us and still calls us his children.
