Marcus Aurelius was born on the 26th of April, 121 AD in Rome, Italy. He was a Roman Emperor from 161 to 180 AD. Besides being a successful leader he was also known for his thoughts on philosophy. His Meditations or "discourses with himself" were written in Greek between 170 CE and 180 CE, mostly while he was on military campaigns.
